Your naive faith in the veracity and timeliness of Amazon Logistics is laudable, yet ultimately one of folly. :)

Like most of the "non premium" delivery services a lot comes down to the drivers in your area. I'm fortunate in that I have never had an issue with Amazon Logistics, with one or two deliveries a week. The only delayed deliveries I have had have been with RM. A tad annoying because it means I can't claim for my "distress" and get extra months of free Prime delivery.

Our Post Room are not to pleased with Amazon deliveries.

They have a habit of delivering random parcels to use especially for the big block next door. Their drivers refuse to take the parcels back the next day (When they point out they've been miss delivered) to redeliver them to the correct address. They tell our post room staff they are not allowed to take possession of them again.

Amusingly they tell our staff that they can do what they want with the parcels as Amazon don't care and they will send replacements or refund them.

They don't seem to understand that the post room staff are not allowed to "do what they want with them" and are not allowed to deliver them to the correct addresses themselves. They are only allowed to give the parcel back to the courier who delivered them and receive a signature to keep the internal tracking process upto date.

The office down the road have exactly the same problem and cannot do anything either due to their own rules. Both post rooms have Amazon parcels mounting up.

No doubt the customers are non to happy as their parcels will show as being delivered

Take a picture of them and tweet Amazon.

  • Hey OP I hope you have managed to receive your goods now, I sympathize with you as it can be very frustrating when waiting for something to be delivered that you need or want.
All the best and wishing you well.

The worst thing Amazon did was to get rid of DPD and take all their deliveries in-house. Now you have no way of knowing when in the day your parcel will arrive. I prefer to use the Amazon locker service even if I'm off for the day.

Our Amazon Prime orders still come via DPD.

    Maybe it's a regional thing.
I can't remember the last time I had a Prime order delivered by DPD. Nowadays it's either Amazon Logistics or Royal mail.

Mine stopped months ago, maybe around the beginning of the year. I believe they're phasing it out in favour of their own logistics but I'm sure there are still parts of the country where they still haven't enough drivers to meet demand.

That's probably it. We are rural Cornwall.

Mine all arrive next day, usually by Amazon's own driver.

They might all arrive next day but with the likes of DPD you were kept informed on when exactly they were going to be delivered, rather than having to face the ordeal of hanging around all day. That's why I prefer to use the lockers now as I can plan the day the way I want to.
