  • You missed 'several appointments' simply to sit in and wait for a helmet camera charger you could have picked up from a sorting office if you missed the delivery...

    Seriously?!

Let me try and explain this situation here. Apologies in advance if this thread is in the wrong place.

I ordered a 20,000 mAh battery pack that can charge a mobile phone and in my case when I ordered mine earlier this year to charge my helmet camera when I am not riding it.

I ordered this pack for a friend on Thursday 22nd September 2016 and was surprised when I received an email from Amazon stating my package will be delivered on Tuesday 27th September. I waited and waited for them, at 14:44, I received another email from them saying they tried to deliver my package but was unable to access the security door. And I was waiting in all day for them and not once did I hear my door knock or my intercom ring. I called them and they assured me that it would be delivered on Wednesday 28th September.

I waited in all day again and still no delivery. I called them again and was assured I would get it today Thursday 29th September.

Once again, same thing, no delivery.

This is now out side of thier contracted delivery estimate of Tuesday 27th - Thursday 29th and thus in my view breaches the Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982 under section 13.

I have been on the phone to them tonight and only ended up more frustrated and annoyed. They are now saying that I have to wait until 1st October for my item because of some fabricated "delay". I find it odd that they managed to "fail to deliver" on the Tuesday as described above.

This is a shambles! What is my next step?

Are you sure the intercom works and is clearly labeled?
  • It was Amazon Logistics and they don't provide an address to pick it up from. Therefore I have no idea where it is. Only that it is somewhere in my city and it is a big one!

Yes custardy, you cant miss it. It is clearly visible from road some 25 meters away!
  • This kind of thing is really frustrating. But it is also not uncommon - logistics is a very low margin business, so there will sometimes be delays and issues, because most people are not willing to pay a significantly higher price for a better delivery service.

You could try Amazon's pick-up or locker services so that you don't have to wait in all day?

I do not agree that you are being lied to. You accuse the delay of being "fabricated" but in fact you have no evidence whatsoever of whether there really is delay with the carrier or not.
  • @steampowered, They have said for the last 3 days that it would be delivered for the last 3 days, and I have received another this morning @ 11:02 saying it would be delivered.

do delivery companies leave cards where you live to let you know it is being left at/to collect from or isnt that an option.

I always get cards left from amazon

    options

    cancel for a refund,

rearrange delivery to an Amazon locker (all morrisons now have amazon lockers)

    wait in all day tomorrow

and lastly chill out, its not worth getting wound up about
  • Amazon logistics can be terrible. They use extremely low cost carriers, and the service they provide suffers too. The courier near me regularly claims they can't deliver to my workplace as it's closed, simply to wait a couple of days to see if there's another parcel in the area and do multiple together (I don't object to this per se, but do object to them claiming they tried to deliver when they didn't).

As others have said, you don't have to wait in any more. Just cancel the order and get a full refund. Buy from someone else who provide a better service - but be prepared to pay more for it too.

Of course they provide an address to pick it up from!

You tell them what Amazon Locker you want to collect from if you won't be at home. You would have been clearly informed of this option at the ordering stage of your purchase.

For the third time, are you sure online ordering is for you?

There's probably a reason ops not answered this question. Probably because it's a silly one

Why do people buy online if they are never in? and then they moan whinge and cry when they have missed the delivery.

Get your item delivered to the place where you will be ie. your work place.

    Problem solved.

What problem has it solved then?

    Do keep up chap
