OK thanks.
That's going to make me really popular. He has PTSD and anxiety but I notice from Bargepole's thread that it's a very informal affair and I don't see us being there for hours on end if it were to go to court.
I'm just relieved I've got something to send to them now!0 -
The working email currently is this one, to submit a defence.
Put the claim number in the subject line along with 'DEFENCE STATEMENT':
ccbcaq@hmcts.gsi.gov.uk
Easier than posting.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

So I can just email the defence with relevant claim numbers etc and I don't have to submit the relevant form in the response pack?
That would be a lot easier and I could do that when I get home from work tomorrow.
Thanks again0 -
Yes indeed as long as the subject line makes it clear that it is a 'defence' for xxxxxx claim number (double check to make sure that claim number is spot-on) and do not send it from YOUR email addy, send it from your husband's and put his name and address at the bottom after the statement of truth. Your name appears nowhere here.
As that email is not just for defences, that's why you have to make sure the clerk at the other end matches it up as a defence and marks the case as defended.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Well everything has been checked, double checked and sent off. I can do no more.
No doubt I'll have something waiting for me when I get back from holiday, but there's no point worrying about that now; I'm just relieved I managed to send everything off in good time.
Thanks everyone for all your help, especially you Coupon - Mad, you have the patience of a saint and I couldn't have done it without you!0 -
You might want to phone the Northampton Court processing centre and double check the email has been logged on the claim as 'defended' seeing as this poster had issues and had to 'avert disaster' (you may want to click on his username and ask what happened, as it appears to have taken a week to get the emailed defence logged)!

Thanks I'll do that before I go.
And I will enjoy my holiday! :-)0 -
Just an update, and hopefully some advice,
We've heard from both the courts and Gladstones. I'm guessing that the letter from the court is a bog standard one as it acknowledges that the claim is defended. It also states that 'The defendant has filed a defence, a copy of which is enclosed'. The last part looks to have been crossed out and there is no copy.
There are also some forms about mediation etc, and I know the advice in the sticky is to decline, which I'm happy to do, however the letter from Gladstones has confused me a bit. They have enclosed a Completed Directions Questionnaire and have requested a special direction that the case be dealt with on papers and without the need for an oral hearing as the costs incurred by both parties would be disproportionate.
BUT:
Their Client (Minster Baywatch) have elected NOT to mediate. They say that in their experience it has rarely proven to beneficial although their client would be happy to listen to any genuine payment proposals from myself!
I understand that I will need to respond to the courts by the date given, but even if I wanted to mediate, that's not possible, so what do I do now? The form from the courts doesn't give me the option to state that Gladstones aren't prepared to mediate. Can they do this?
Thanks0 -
You need to object to the case being heard on papers, this is a Gladstone con where they put papers in at the last minute which you can not challenge. Mediation is a waste of time as they will still want £100 plus.0

I guess that Gladstones and even Minister Baywatch have been studying the Parking Prankster numerous case reports that the PPC has been gladstoned in court.
This is probably why they want you to settle this before court and why they do not want an oral hearing.
Taking into account that gladstones are considered incompetent , there is every chance that the Prankster will have a new heading ...
"Minister Baywatch ... you have been gladstoned"
If you are convinced you have the correct evidence, you need an oral hearing ..... something Gladstones clearly do not want to do
Read between the lines. They say costs will be disproportionate.
Your costs will be limited to what a court permits, the costs for Minister Baywatch WILL without doubt be disproportionate and they can thank Gladstones for that.
At this stage Minister Baywatch should consider the loss they could suffer from and bow out before before Gladstones .... Gladstoned them ?0
