Hi MOT. Hope things have been okay. Please let us know as soon as possible. I've been thinking of you while the site's been down. Hope the s**ts who did this get bored and read this thread.

:grouphug: to you MOT. Seriously, hope you're well, and appealing, and keeping your chin up as you do so well.

    Hi everyone,

The site being down has been awful as what with the meeting with the council on Friday and I-T going away on Saturday I have never felt so low.
Spent most of the weekend in a state of mental confusion and tears.

But now MSE is back albeit not quite 100% I feel better knowing that you all are here for me again.

    Thank you all xx

    Well, an update so far:

Chiropractor phoned me yesterday and will do a detailed report and let me see it first so that as much info as possible is given to the council about my back condition and the way in which it affects the body as a whole.

My previous GP hasn't responded yet so I have sent him another email reminding him of the urgency.

I have emailed HLO for an update on temporary accomodation and also asked her whether it is worth me filing the Form N244 (was returned initially due to no fee enclosed - didn't know:confused: ) and asking for Postponement of Possession particularly now LL's purchaser has backed out. This would mean that hopefully the twins and I may only have to move once instead of twice and would cut down the removal costs dramatically - something which I just can't afford.

Is there anything else anyone can recommend I do in the meantime?

Ooh, I didn't know that - must have been karma! Maybe the landlord would be more prepared to let you stay there now as he won't be getting any income from the property until he can get someone else in. I'd ask the CAB/Housing Advice centre about that rather than the HLO - personally, I wouldn't trust the landlord given how he's already behaved, & you don't want to scupper your chances of getting proper accommodation you can rely on either. It's in the housing department's interest to get you off their figures even temporarily, & I think you should be pursuing getting accommodation from them rather than postponing it to stay where you are & then having to go through all of this again. If you stay where you are, I don't think the housing department would consider you to still be in need of housing even if your stay was just temporary - they'd make you withdraw your application, & when you submit a new one, they'd want up-to-date medical reports, you'd have to get the councillor involved again etc. I think it would be harder to do all this second time around - it's much better to deal with it now while you've got their attention & interest. I understand councils can help with removal costs and/or storage if you're on benefits, so it would be worth you looking into that. :)

Hi MOT, was thinking about you whilst mse was down. Glad to see you still have a fighting chance of a change in decision, hopefully Shelter can help you with this.
Can I ask, are you now making rent payments to your landlord?

Hi gforce, I have an appointment with Shelter on Thursday morning at 10am, and the HB is going directly to LL now so need to be out of here asap as the gas and elec bills are too high as its an old draughty property and takes a lot of heating plus its very dark so lighting is on all day! Council tax is hefty too.

WDIAG, I agree with about having the councils attention and the HLO has mentioned a flat in the Old Town that we may be able to have temporarily - she's just waiting to hear from another dept within Housing to confirm that its available.

    Hope to be out before 8th Nov - but I-T won't know where I am:eek: ;)

I feel for you, old draughty houses can be a money pit where heating bills are concerned!
Just wondering if your landlord would tell the LHO the arrears are being sorted out & the eviction is due to the house sale only? It would be in his interests for the council to rehouse you asap too.

Hi mot - I've not been on since the 'big crash' but I was thinking about you.
I hope you will permit me a certain amount of 'pleasure' in hearing that your LL's buyers have pulled out.
