Sorry, I'm not that well up on the homelessness act so I'm not too sure. I know that in my area if someone in your circumstances presented as homeless and literally didn't have anywhere to go that night, then our homeless officer would find them temporary accommodation under section 188 (I think) that day and would then have 28 days to investigate further.
But they would tell you to hang on where you are until you have no choice but to leave.0 -

Yes i have received the documents you left for me. If i need anything else i will let you know. I have written to your GP and landlord and still waiting for their
response. I am also yet to look at your finances and cannot give you a specific date when your decision will be made. I will keep you informed and hope to be as
quick as possible. Meanwhile if you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact me by phone or email.
Kind regards

This is the response from my HLO received this morning. Does anyone think or know of anything else I can do to help my case please?
Ring the Head of Homeless, ring Shelter, ring your MP, ring your councillor (in fact, ring the Mayor!), ring your local paper.
"as quick as possible" is not a satisfactory response when you have to be out imminently!2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

You could contact GP and landlord (??!!) and explain that this is holding up you leaving the house. They probably want some confirmation in writing from the landlord re selling the house?Torgwen.....................

Hi MoT,
As Fran said, definately get ahold of ur GP and landloard and explain the situation - surely if ur LL wants u out the house, the quicker he sorts his admin out the better! As u don't appear to be having much luck with ur local councillors (sp?), I'd get in contact with ur MP asap. This whole situation is making me so    .
I live in an area where there are a high number of low income families/single mothers etc, and the council/HA is clearly over stretched, but there is not one single house boarded up the I know of..... yet, the area where I grew up, altho it had/has a similar problem, there are LOADS of perfectly good houses boarded up. The COUNCIL estate I grew up on, there are still at least 20, and some of those have een that way since I left home....... 10 years ago!!!
The way u are being treated by the 'system' is an absolute disgrace.... perhaps u could keep a good record of timelines, emails/conversations etc then get in contact with a local paper....? May be a bit extreme, but something to think about if things don't move forward soon.

Just got home and opened a letter from The Houses of Parliament from my MP
Quote " Dear Ms ****,
Many thanks for your letter of 26thSeptember and I was so sorry to read of the problems you are having with housing and financial matters.
I have, today, written to the Chief Executive of ****** Borough Council asking if he could look into your case and come back to me with his comments.
As soon as I have a response I will of course be in touch and I would be grateful if you could let me know if the Housing Department contact you direct.
Yours Sincerely,"
And the letter he wrote to the Chief Exec is:
"Dear ******,
Re: **********************
I have been contacted by my constituent who, as you will see from the enclosed, has made an application for housing as she has been served with an eviction notice from her landlord.
I would grateful if you could read through the enclosed letters as you will see that this lady, and her children, have been through a lot of trauma since the family breakdown in 2005.
I wonder if you could look into her case and come back to me with your comments and proposals.
Yours sincerely"

Great news, it shouldn't come to this but as it has and the MP has been so great lets hope you get a home by the end of the week.
ps I've pm'd you about the wedding outfit0 -
Good news but don't sit back on your laurels, I would still contact Shelter and your local councillor too.0 -
Just as a guideline and to be realistic - we (local government) have to respond to an MP letter within 5 days....but that can mean "we are looking into this & will get back to you".
Also Chief Exec enquiries have to be dealt within a short timescale too.
Hoepfully you will have an answer soon MOT

No I won't let it rest. I am waiting for CC friend to call me - left message at his home so guess I'll get a call about teatime before he goes off for any evening meetings. I have also emailed HLO again since I last posted for an update and asking how long she has to make a decision.Christians Against Poverty - www.capuk.org0

Floss,
Is this letter from my MP likely to go against me with the HLO? She and her dept may well be in for a reprimand???Christians Against Poverty - www.capuk.org0
