Oh I agree too, have a wonderful day.
  • You'll be in my neck of the woods (more or less just down the road from me!).

I'll stand on a box and wave to you and I T, hon.!!! :hello:

I really wanted to go to the festival in Rochester but hubby's working this weekend and from where I am (near Maidstone) it's tricky to get to without a car- even though it's fairly close. It's on a different train line to the one I can get to. BUM!

Such good news about the MP's support!!!! YAAAAY!

Well, have a fantastic day sweetie. Hugs to you all x

  • Hi everybody! We had a great day, enjoyed the Christmas spirit (mulled wine) and a mince pie, sang our carolling hearts out under the snow machine and even made some Christmas purchases. My sister lost one of her favourite earrings which was very upsetting. Came home, picked up my 92 year old father and went for a curry (plus wine of course). Dad wanted us to come in for Brandies which, while tempting had to be turned down because MOT & I were 'cream crackered'. Sorry pennyfrog that you weren't able to go to the Festival too; we could have met up.

I-T and I doing the letter to the council and have just found out that the medical assessment from NowMedical was received by the LA on the 13th November which was AFTER the final decision letter deeming me intentionally homesless dated the 9th November - so how could a decision be made without that  ?

A hug to her from me, please IT.

By now, mot, I hope - especially with IT alongside you - you are enjoying a chuckle at this latest blunder by them.
It is ammunition for you - unless Gforce thinks it was a 2nd stage attempt to pre-mpt/negate/undermine your Appeal. Can't see how, given dates and wording, but THIS LA seems to find VERY lateral ways of non-thinking.

If that's correct then the LHO has not done her job and has not treated you in a fair and impartial way. No wonder us LA workers get a bad name:mad: . However I do know that when a quick assessment is needed NowMedical will give it the phone and follow it up in writing, so it is possible that she'd got the assessment that way before the final decision.
For your case I hope the LHO has jumped the gun as it supports your (imho correct) argument that she has not taken your mental health at the time into consideration.
I think you need to do some further digging on this one.

    Hi Gforce,

Was thinking the same - that maybe assessment given verbally but surely there should have been some written note of this amongst the paperwork in my file? She has made reference to it in her dateline notes:

"19/10/07 Chased up medical with Now Medical. Was informed that the DR has requested that a psychiatrist look at it instead. Psychiatrist would be in on Monday and would respond then."

As yet, we can't find the response amongst the paperwork:confused:

Forgive a moment's facetiousness please, Gforce.
I dare to hope the telephone opinion was one of NOW Medical's £10 specials...

I think the response by the Psychiatrist is the nowmedical assessment. The assessment should give the Dr's name and qualifications at the bottom of the report (if I remember rightly),
