    Hi MOT

    I've been thinking:

Have you applied to the Housing Associations who cover your area for housing too ? Have you asked to be nominated by the Council to the associations onto whose lists you cannot apply directly ?

How many points do you currently have ? Do these reflect your current circs. ie one bedroom for all 3 of you, living in a flat etc. If I have added things up right your points should be around the 80 + mark, do you know how many do you need to get rehoused ?

    Hi Vanda,

Will speak to council about this tomorrow as the HA's I spoke to a while back said that either they got all their referrals from the council or that their lists were closed. Re: my points again I will have to check. But thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

  • I hate to say this but that Housing Officer person has already decided that MOT etc are not going to WIN any appeal "over her dead body"

She is biased. Is it legal for her to tell MOT that she has only lost 2 appeals this year.

I wonder do the government know what this lady does.....
surely her job is to HELP people to get homes?

MOT please pm me her name, I would like to google her too.....

When do you go to see your MP ?
Today, my BEST is good enough.

Appt to see MP is Fri 30th November at 4.30pm.

Just received a ltter from 10 Downing Street saying:

' The Prime Minister has asked me to thank you for your recent letter.

Mr Brown was pleased that you felt able to write to him regarding your housing problem, a careful note has been made of your comments.

He has asked me to send your letter to the Department for Communities and Local Government, as he feels that it is important that they are aware of your concerns and can send you any comments they may have.

    Yours sincerely '

    Hi Cristabel

The housing officer can tell mot that if she wishes and of course if it is true, It may be that she is very thorough and that is why she has had success but in moh pride comes before a fall and people who are so cocky about there successes are eventually going to get sloppy and are heading for a fall.

But to put mot's mind at rest the review is carried out by a panel of people senior to the housing officer who were never involved in the original decision, if she were to be involved in the review this would make the decision totally invalid.

I agree it is but unfortunately this is all that there is to work with , ITs hell on earth for the families going through it,

In scotland they are changing the law on homelessness and intentionality local authority will have a power to disregard the intentionality aspect in certain cases.
unfortunately although it is being looked at in Wales it is not to my knowledge in england yet,

Yes, christabell, this is an aspect we are all concerned about.
The Appeal process SEEMS(in deference to and respect for Gforce and teeni) ludicrous, in that they allow no personal reps, present printed statements to a Committee of whom I see only one councillor so designated on their own site. In fact, 'keeping our clean sheet' could almost be seen by them as a 'Best Practice, Best Value' measure in the way that LA mission statements run these days.
Without any impartial observer present, let alone the Appellant, who know What is presented and How?
    Time to re-read 'Rotten Boroughs'.
I think Dacorum need a way to re-house mot adequately without losing face - it's heavily Tory, with a couple each of Labs and LibDems.
What does it contravene to leaflet each and every of these good folk and flag the circumstances of the forthcoming Appeal up to them? Make them aware that the panel of five on the day are ALL aware of what they stand to gain/lose in publicity?
Why not think the unthinkable and then do it?
mot has experienced the unthinkable and unbelievable up till now.
