this case is in the latest edition of housing law casebook and is the book we are using for all case law at present so I think it is relevant in this case as I am unaware of any that has superseeded it.

But i will keep searching just in case.

    Hi MOT

Have been away for a few days and have just caught up !!!!!! Won't repeat my thoughts and words about it all on a public forum though.

Your Council has its own Housing Advice Section doesn't it ? How does this fit in with the Homelessness Team ? Are the Housing Advice staff independent at all ? If so is it worth having a word with them about the situation. I don't know if you have already done this, but you have never mentioned speaking to them. As they are in house they should be bang up to date with the latest trends and operating methods of the council.

The Council I used to work for had it's own Advice Centre, and although the staff were employees of the Council, they acted independently and helped clients with homelessness appeals etc.

    Hi MOT

    I've been thinking:

Have you applied to the Housing Associations who cover your area for housing too ? Have you asked to be nominated by the Council to the associations onto whose lists you cannot apply directly ?

How many points do you currently have ? Do these reflect your current circs. ie one bedroom for all 3 of you, living in a flat etc. If I have added things up right your points should be around the 80 + mark, do you know how many do you need to get rehoused ?

    Not 'cups', but 'glasses'.
