Forgot to say that when I got back to the flat at teatime there was a letter pushed under the door from the Housing Assoc (who own the flat) serving with me with an Eviction Notice and we have to be out of here on or before the 17th December 2007! I am hoping that this letter is as a result of the Final Decision letter from the council dated 9th November and that it is not as a result of my letter to LHO dated 14th Nov requesting appeal and permission to stay here until appeal has been heard.

Rog/Gforce - I have taken your advice and been to the theatre tonight with I-T to see an amateur production of 'Seasons Greetings' by Alan Aykbourn and it has really helped as it was so funny - the set was brilliant and the actors too. Also the twins are off their fathers tomorrow and I am going straight to I-T's until Sun pm when, hopefully, I will be more refreshed and ready to tackle this head on.

I will never be able to thank you all enough for your help and support xx

    Hello MOT

I have just read your last post, and I am stunned at the lightening speed with which public bodies can perform when it is a negative act, and contrasting it with how slow and turgid it is when you are trying to get positive help.

I cannot add usefully to your appeal and won't clutter your thread, but please know that even if I am not posting I think of you and your children daily.

    Enjoy your weekend
    God Bless

    I know my sentiments entirely!

I am just so tired of this whole thing - I HAVE to get the strength back to fight on but it seems like climbing Mount Everest at the moment.

I do feel a bit better today - ironic isn't it when all the places that I need to deal with are closed! Still maybe a pampering session for myself at I-T's, then dinner with friends (at his) and a lie in in the morning will help

Very Few of us have had to go through what you are going through, mot, and many a lesser mortal would have cracked by now.
You are lucky to have the support of I-T, and your twins, who are obviously your driving force.
You will get through all of this, and will emerge a stronger person as a result.
Your experiences will serve as an example to anyone who is faced with similar problems.
I hope you manage to have a great week-end.

Ring l/a on Monday to confirm if they have agreed to accommodate pending review and if so is that acc will be where you presently are. Should be given in writing really

the housing association would have to get a court order to evict you if you do not leave . they will get one easily but it will all take time and of corse the costs all add up for you so hopefully it is just a cross over as the result of one dept not knowing what the other is doing.

MOT I have just spent most of today reading this thread and tip my hat to you.

YOU ARE AN AMAZING WOMAN AND YOU SHOULD BE PROUD OF YOURSELF FOR BEING STRONG!!!!!

My heart has gone out to you throughout this and, although I have never been in your position (my hubby's work provides our housing) I do know that I would have had a breakdown of some sort by now.

If you ever need someone to moan to, feel free to pm me - i have broad shoulders for you to cry on!

Take care, try to relax over the weekend, gather your strength for the week.

All my good wishes and lots of love to you,the twins and I-T as well.

Hi MOT, I'll leave my questions for next week. In the meantime have a great weekend:D
  • If anyone felt the ground shaking- it wasn't an earthquake. It was me stamping round in fury at what MOT is having to go through!!!!!!!!

Oh, hon, I can't tell you how much I feel for you.
I'm so sick of red tape reigning supreme over humanity! I know that there are alot of scammers out there. I know that there are people who try it on and I know there have to be rules and regulations but, for crying out loud, surely treating each case on its own merits ought to be reality not just lip service!!!!

MOT, I really do understand that churning in the pit of the stomach feeling that you end up living with. It beggars belief that when you're at your lowest, they scare the hell out of you with talk of taking children into care and so on. I know the reality is different but that doesn't help when evey negative thing feels like a planet, never mind a mountain! They told us the same, sweetheart. I was terrified and furious. You think they'd use their time better in helping out children who live in abusive homes or apalling conditions with parents who can't care for them at all rather than scaring parents who put their kids first and provide love, emotional stability and good parenting (and you've more than done that, MOT). I know that homelessness means that the needs of any children must be monitored- but there are ways of offering support rather than barging in with a ton of negative- and often misleading- comments. HAs seem to specialise in the later approach! It makes me so mad!

Hon, no matter how you may feel- always remember that you are a coper and a survivor. What an amazing example of perseverance and strength you are to your twins, hon. No one can ever take away the proof they have that their mum has fought so hard for their sakes. At the risk of sounding corny, you, MOT, are love in action to those kids.

Take some time to recharge your batteries whenever you can. A situation like this is emotionally exhausting for anyone- and for someone who has been in the cloud of depression it can be a double whammy. (Depression stinks, doesn't it? Unless someone's been through it they can't understand how debilitating it is.)
Hold onto the thought that this time in a few months this will all be over and you'll be living your new life.
IT, please give MOT a huge hug from us all. You'll have to be our arms for a while!!!!
Thinking of you every day, hon. Hang in there.
Conquering the debts one penny at a time.....
