Just had a mammoth catch up ATB, great progress! They were some great sales you had!
    Nov 2025 - part 1 - £13,878 part 2 - £20,953 Total - £34,832 24 months to go!
  • Signature updated. Sadly won't be into the teens until December mortgage payment (standard monthly payment knocks around £350 in capital off, so we will just fall short in November's payment).

Still looking good though, and nice to know we have exhausted our OP allowance for the year :T
    MFW :)

    Aiming to be MF 1.10.2020
  • So close! At least in a month you'll be there. :)
  • Went to a Halloween party and met a very inspirational lady. She was by no means "tight", but very careful and clever with her money. They have three DC (10,9 and 3), her hubby works part-time and she is a SAHM. They have almost cleared their mortgage and she imparted umpteen pearls of wisdom when it comes to money saving.

Much food for thought and very inspirational. I talked her through some rough numbers for our monthly outgoings, she was shocked at what we pay for so many things and I thought we were careful. Hmmm.

Off to do some batch cooking then assemble a bay-of-e pile. Lots to think about xx

  • Signature updated now standard monthly payment has gone out, so close to the teens but lovely to know we will be there in December.

Sad to say that we won't quite be at five figures by the end of the year. Decided not to OP in excess of OP allowance, no point paying a penalty when we don't have long to wait until January when the OP allowance refreshes.

That said, once we have paid our 2018 allowance (which we will do in one go in January) we will only be a couple of 1000s away from five figures so may well just go for it.

February sees the 3 year anniversary of starting this diary, and it would be an utter delight to be in five figures in time for then.

I think I may have just set myself a challenge :rotfl:

Your January OP will reduce your term drastically. I love to see the months being knocked off. Sounds like inspirational stuff from the lady you met. I'd be happy just for both of us to work part time, that's a bit of a 10 year plan for us though.
