- One ebay item sold today and I need to package that up. Must list at least 3 more things tonight. When I am looking for things to sell, the question I am asking is "will this item not being in our lives impact upon our wellbeing and happiness in any way?" The answer is so often no. it's opened up a whole new approach to decluttering for me :j
I love this approach to decluttering. Very nice.
Ooh yes, me too. Sort of the opposite approach to KonMari, will I be sad to see this go? I will definitely bear that in mind as our decluttering continues.0 -
Evening all,
Gosh it's cold here :snow_grin
£10 fuel put in the car as planned, no spends needed tomorrow or Friday thoughanother eBay sale too, happy days. I did a load of batch cooking today, so have a chilli made in readiness for tea tomorrow. Poor DH will be off at 530am tomorrow, back around 8pm so will need something filling and warm. Freezing fog forecast all day tomorrow so we will be driving to school I think!
Keep chipping away at those mortgages, we are all getting there xMFW

It is absolutely freezing today. I am feeling very very grateful to be snuggled up on the sofa with the dog, a blanket and a hot cup of tea. When hubby left for work at 5:30AM I could already see that the motorway was gridlocked
No OPs expected today but no spending either.
Stay warm everyone xxMFW

When I walked the dogs at 8am it didn't look that cold because there was no frost but when I got outside I was so glad I'd still wrapped up becuase the wind was freezing!! I'm now on the sofa doing surveys with a quilt, the dogs and a hot water bottle! Lol!
Have a good day! xMortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

Aiming to be mortgage free by my 40th birthday, June 2026!0 -
Amazing OPs ATB - I don't think you're chipping away, you're taking great chunks out!
I've been tucked up in our office which has recently gone from being the coldest room in the house to the warmest with the addition of a radiator - I hadn't noticed that the temp in the rest of the house was down to about 12 degree! Heating has gone on now!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Thank you both for popping in.
I simply can't seem to warm up properly today. We will be lighting the fire later I am sure.
themadvix - we really need to go at this mortgage hammer and tongs this year. Whilst we are pleased with the progress since we started this journey almost 2 years ago, we have been pretty wasteful this past year and could have OPd a lot more.
DH work has been so stressful and also physically demanding recently, he needs to know the money he earns is going towards a greater good, i.e. Paying the mortgage down, so he won't have to do it for too much longer.
Our fixed rate ends in April next year, at which point we want to have enough in the pot to make a big lump OP bringing the mortgage down to £90k. Hopefully the numbers will tumble significantly there on in, due to so much less being spent on interest.
Need to build myself up to go on the school run shortly...MFW

That seems very sensible then ATB. We're fortunate that we don't have much stress with our jobs, but we're looking forward to being in the 90s too - it's lovely to think about how much of a difference each payment will make then!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Morning all
(just!)
We have woken to heavy rain today, how rubbish. Kiddies are playing nicely though so that's one good thing!
Will be spending some cash today as my dear grandma is 80 today. We are going for a meal later, and I have bought her a lovely cake, balloons, flowers etc. Totally worth it - she is a complete legend and the most stoic, inspirational lady you could hope to meet.
I'll be back on tomorrow xxMFW

It's quite bright here which makes a nice change. We had a lovely time last night, and haven't got much on today so hoping for a relaxed no spend day.
Bargainous reduced turkey crown for tea with all the usual accompaniments. £100 OP made too :T
