Hi fisherjim
My apologies the letter does not say this it says that court action will be taken and after doing my research I discovered that this leads to CCJ's my mistake, this is the first time this has happened to me.
I did not register my vehicle number (and this is the initial reason for the fine) at the front desk however I was not told that I needed to do that in any point of my transaction from booking to checking out, this is the reason the hotel agreed to cancel the fine.
I notice on Trip Advisor you are not alone with this problem and please note you do not have a fine.
The manager has a template reply for complaints and it would appear from comments that the instructions to register yor VRN are just on notices placed on tables around reception.
This is not acceptable, when ever I check into a hotel they always ask for your VRN number or it's on the registration form this should be enough to satisfy their silly scheme and it's their responsibility to whitelist you from there.
The manager also does not seem to pro actively offer to cancel any charges on Trip Advisor either until really pushed.
It is also very probable the hotel gets a £10 bung back for every charge issued so that probably explains that.
I imagine you were caught by Parking Lie's ANPR system, and the hotel should put your VRN through to stop them issuing a charge.
Get it in writing or email from the manager that the charge will be cancelled, and if the Muppets try a court claim you can wave it under the judges nose.0 -

Thanks for the help, if possible though I don't want to have to go to court proceedings.0 -

If there is any "bung back" it will no doubt be to the manager.
Maybe Holiday Inn should investigate themselves about the workings of ... Holiday Inn (M6 Stoke on Trent)0 -

As it's the hotel the OP is after, the only thing that should be said to Parking Eye is .... THE HOTEL HAVE CANCELLED THE CHARGE.
Would flush out those who lie0 -
Then STOP IGNORING ParkingEye, it is high time you emailed them, especially if the latest letter was a 'Letter before Claim'. You are sleepwalking into a court claim, needlessly, if you do not contact PE. Not just the Hotel. Remember, as yet, PE have not heard from you! Thanks for the help, if possible though I don't want to have to go to court proceedings.
URGENTLY do what this victim is doing:

Get onto PE's enforcement 'team' (enforcement@) immediately by email and get the hotel to email (parking@) and copy you in. Make sure this happens tomorrow.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi all and thanks for all advice so far,
I have this morning received the following email from the hotel:
"Good Evening
Apologies for the delayed response, I have forwarded on a cancellation request over to my HR department and they will pick this up first thing in the morning.
Please do not worry about your fine. I have also attached an invoice from your visit with us that will also be considered by Parking Eye during the cancellation request process.
I will contact you if we need further information regarding your fine.
Kindest Regards"
This seems to be okay however is it still advisable to contact Parking Eye myself directly?0
