Parking Eye. Vile Company. Need Help.

Hello,

I'm really hoping someone on here can help me with a situation that is driving me insane.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn (M6 Stoke on Trent) which advertises free parking to all guests, a week after I stayed I was issued with a parking fine for £100. Obviously disgruntled I rang the hotel who then assured me the ticket would be cancelled and I should ignore a second letter from Parking Eye. A third has just come informing me I have 9 days to pay the £100 or a CCJ will be enforced.

I have done absolutely nothing wrong in this situation. I have since emailed the hotel asking for them to submit another cancellation request and to give me written conformation of this. But as of yet I have not appealed via Parking Eye or paid a single penny.

With the threat of a CCJ looming I am understandably erratic with concern, I don't know what to do but I just want this mess to go away. If anyone could advise I would be incredibly grateful.

Thanks for any help and for reading,
Glenn

Woah, hold on there, a CCJ only results after a court case, and that's only if you don't pay. get in touch with the hotel again and demand to know whats going on, make sure you do this via email or letter, not over the phone, also ask them about paying for your costs/time/expenses for dealing with their agents (parking eyes) unreasonable actions

    Glenn,

Firstly the idiots at Parking Eye cannot ENFORCE a CCJ.
Parking Eye are simpleton Parking scammers.
Only a court can direct a CCJ
That is why you will find on here that they are called Parking Lie

You have already been told by the Holiday Inn that it will be cancelled so WHY have they not done that ??

Contact the hotel again, if need be go to their CEO and now you can claim harassment.

This is a simple case of the hotel doing what they said they will do and if this goes to court you will involve them to explain to the court why they allow their customers to be scammed for money.

It's slam dunk for you and let Holiday Inn know you really do mean business.
You now need confirmation in writing or email from Holiday Inn that it has been cancelled.
No need to contact Parking Eye, this is between you and the hotel

You should also leave negative feedback on their website and tripadvisor etcetera.

  • Thanks each for replying and for the solid advice. I have contacted the hotel by email and asked for written conformation of the cancellation request. I am also writing to the Hotel Group head office to inform them of their negligence. I wrote a scathing trip advisor review on receipt of the first fine so that is already taken care of.
Obviously this is taking a significant chunk of time up (of my working day) which is highly frustrating.

Any further advice is more than welcome and I will keep this thread updated to hopefully aid anyone else in this situation.

No harm in invoicing Holiday Inn for the time spent on this.
They won't pay but you might get a free room offered.
It would have to be a "scammers" excluded deal though

They are a despicable bullying greedy bunch of scam artists, but I am absolutely sure their letter does not say this!

I understand you have to register you VRN with them at reception did you do this?

Maybe Parking Eye are now using BWLegal for their script writing ??
  • Hi fisherjim

My apologies the letter does not say this it says that court action will be taken and after doing my research I discovered that this leads to CCJ's my mistake, this is the first time this has happened to me.

I did not register my vehicle number (and this is the initial reason for the fine) at the front desk however I was not told that I needed to do that in any point of my transaction from booking to checking out, this is the reason the hotel agreed to cancel the fine.

I very much doubt if PE would go anywhere near a court with this. I would say that their chances of convincing a judge that you owe them money are slight indeed. Especially as the hotel are on your side.

I am sure that it is safe to tell them to go forth and multiply.
