I'm just speaking to a mate of mine at Telegraph Money.
Telling him the tale of someone who's blacklisted at all three CRAs as a result of major defaults but has just got a mortgage from Ulster Bank and runs a CC with a £5k limit.
He is VERY interested about this case.0 -
Ill sell him my story for say 10 grand0

I even passed a credit check for a new mobile contract yesterday
THE HORROR0 -

THE HORROR
Been visiting churchyards recently? Day of the Jackal stuff?
Automated credit check by mobile operator and it doesn't spot big defaults? Emm, interesting.0 -

Or maybe just maybe they ignore ones over a certain age, Or that fact that I have another mobile account that is in good standing played a factor, And you know what, I got that while I was still paying off the defaults, they weren't clear and that passed too
Either way, blacklists do not exist, Defaults and missed payments do not rule you out of getting credit from even normal high street lenders
Now about that 10k does he want my number?0 -

Well in that case this board might as well shut up shop. No one has anything to worry about and everyone will get credit, whatever, if your case is anything to go by.
The £10k - he reckons the story is worth about one. Will you take a cheque?0 -
The incentive would be they'd lose their licence if they didn't shape up.
That's not the problem!. They would happily do the bare minimum to meet the requirements because they know they have the licence so don't have any competitors.
So they would happily offer the £2 statutory report to anyone who wants it. But they would have no incentive to offer their reports to services such as clearscore who would be giving their data away for free!. So people would loose out due to not having access to their credit reports for free.
Yes I know clearscore pay them for the reports but if their is no competition they could charge what they wanted to supply the data. This kind of relationship wouldn't be part of the regulations because it is not an essential part of credit scoring.0 -

I'll settle for 5k
You see, it's all about individually circumstances, the older defaults are the less of an impact, they are also paid off,
Now I know fine rightly you don't believe me, but unless I've went to the trouble of creating an elaborate story on this forum for the last few years, you will be able to find posts talking of my defaults, new credit, mortgage etc,
Options are there for everyone depending on circumstances, the scenario that plays out in your head of miss one payment and your screwed is just that, in your head0
