So move in with your sister for 10 days?
Sounds like the family is doing OK. Cheap housing for at least 2 family members, with free upgrade of heating? Count yourelf very lucky!0 -
Not sure they can they force you to leave the property with nowhere to go. Surely you'll either be entitled to a rent free period, or you can stay and they can work around you?
Speak with Shelter if you haven't already.
Is the current system dangerous in any way? Does the whole lot need replacing, or can they just do something with the fire?
When you first took over the flat, what flooring was there and was it mentioned on an inventory or lease?
Never advisable to decorate a rental - that's the LL's responsibility. I assume you got permission...
Good luck!
Jx
I will not have to pay any rental on the temporary accommodation (trolls queue here to lecture on sense of entitlement) though they have specified where it will be and it will not accommodate my working hours due to restrictions of the terms of stay.
The current system is not dangerous but needs a part replaced. I have kindly asked they compromise and fix it until something becomes available which is being assessed in terms of need to be closer to a relative I am now a main carer for so waiting will not be too long in the grander scheme. ( trolls quote this).
The rental is a secure tenancy from a housing association. It is up to the tenant in this case to decorate. I have laminate flooring which because of it being a flat I had to ask permission for it to be laid which I did. There was not even so much as a light bulb in this place when I moved in. (trolls I am not complaining about the latter mentioned)
As an empty flat it required no inventory.

And you're qualified to know this how? It's not your property. If the HA wish to upgrade THEIR asset they are fully within their rights to do so.
