Speaking for myself, I'm not really interested in whether they can be recycled or not lol, I just want a cup of bloody coffee!
Oh bad bad Mard..0 -
I didn`t recycle any of my pods, don`t care either. I have used miles coffee sachets and they make a very good mug of cafetiere coffee for one. They are worth buying

:rotfl: at Mardatha and Kittie. Indeed when you need a coffee, that is all that matters in this world!
I do recycle my coffee grounds though using it in the garden or burning to keep the wasps away when drinking coffee outside (also helps with other bitey insects such as mosquitoes).0 -

Just leaving this here, in case anyone is interested. It's a blog, so not scientific. I like my cafetiere coffee above anything else, and to my mind seems like a whole lot less faff than a machine... (particularly if you are concerned about recycling the pods)I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
I'm sat here with a lovely cup of coffee looking for the slow cooker thread . . . . :rotfl::rotfl:
What a lovely sit down! Unrushed, therapeutic, this steaming glass of mocha actually provides nutrients too!
But no sugar! Ever! If you have to add sugar, STOP drinking it!!
We talk about essential food groups but there are also liquid groups - coffee, wine, whiskey and water!! You don't need anything else!!:D0 -
Ref cafetieres, if you get fed up of breaking glass ones, keep an eye on Ebay for the twin-walled stainless steel catering ones as used by run-of-the-mill hotels and wedding venues. Not the sort of thing to impress one's attractive friends with in one's £50K minimalist gleaming white kitchen, but absolutely indestructible and I swear they don't lose heat as much as the glass ones.
I must try and get one of these as I have broken countless glass ones and a full pot of 'perked coffee' is a bit too much for me on my own, although when eldest DD visits on a sunday morning we both enjoy a pot between us.We are the only two in the family who love fresh coffee.0 -

I still like the glass caffs because I normally only make one cup at a time, occasionally two, and like to see I've got the right amount of water for the coffee (apart from not boiling more water than I need).
The Aerolatte cafetiere even has measurements visible on the side and [STRIKE]if[/STRIKE] when I break one, I can just buy the glass replacement http://www.aerolatte.com/products/cafetiere-and-french-press/aerolatte-french-press-cafetiere/0 -
Hi all
another coffee lover here. We've got a bean to cup machine which I love as I make regular cappuccinos (has saved us a fortune over the years). I swear by Aldi Espresso coffee beans. They give a strong, smooth coffee. Only thing is the stores only have a maximum of around 10 bags each week (if that) so I stock pile when I see it x0
