I do love it when a deleted thread takes off. It couldn't happen anywhere else.
    I'm another cafetiere fan.
I have heard that Aldi does an excellent coffee, but as I don't have ready access to Aldi I have no idea what it is.
I love coffee anything. My regret is that boxes of chocolates usually only have one coffee cream - sorry, coffee creme. Some dont even have that. What are they thinking?

If they made a coffee scented washing up liquid it would make my household chores so much more enjoyable.

    I think that's it.

Anyone else got anything to say about coffee? It doesn't have to be useful.

I don't like coffee that much - but it does give me energy and a boost. I used to live on espresso on night shift. I hate it when it's bitter though, am looking for sweet and strong tasting.

I like Taylors 'Lazy sunday', that's rather mellow.

I also am a cafetiere fan and would choose it over all the machines.

Monnagran - coffee cake, coffee ice cream? Yuuuuuummmmmm
I wanna be in the room where it happens

TKMaxx/Homesense almost always have the big bottles of coffee syrup in for less than a fiver. You only need a teaspoon or two worth so they last ages. Best way to mask a bitter coffee should you accidentally make one when trying out all the suggestions above.

Which pod machine do you have? Not sure on the other pod types, but Nespresso pods (both branded and others) all have a number rating on them. Usually the lower the number, the milder/sweeter it will be. Caffeine will be roughly the same per pod, as the number is the flavour strength (generally based on the bean variety/blend and how darkly roasted they are) which doesn't significantly affect the caffeine content.

It's a De Longhi and it says to use only ESE pods? But that helps re the numbers thanks. :)

Ref cafetieres, if you get fed up of breaking glass ones, keep an eye on Ebay for the twin-walled stainless steel catering ones as used by run-of-the-mill hotels and wedding venues. Not the sort of thing to impress one's attractive friends with in one's £50K minimalist gleaming white kitchen, but absolutely indestructible and I swear they don't lose heat as much as the glass ones.
    We're all doomed

I love coffee, would definitely do more cleaning if the products were coffee scented :rotfl:
  • We have a fancy-pants whooosh-fizz machine - courtesy of the folks who bought someone who didn't drink coffee one for a wedding present (and then they put it on eBay). This led to the purchase of a TKMaxx bean grinder - but that's the end of the gee-gaws and gadgets.

Makes fab coffee and makes the kitchen smell gorgeous mmmm.
