One way Car rental Fees in California

Since there is no one way fee either way, why have you changed from SFO to LAX?
Hertz doesn't have an equivalent to the Dodge Caravan, so stick with Alamo direct or via Brits.0 -
Or go with Avis - £242 for a Chrysler people carrier0

I am waiting for your expert advice that booking direct with Hertz is cheaper and has no-one way fee.
As I obviously do not know what I'm doing. If you would kindly give me your expert quote for Hertz for
LAX-SFO
21/8/17 for 7 days
7 seater
As i'd hate to get it wrong myself.
And if it is cheaper I will forget about brokers.
Though they have been cheaper for the last 20 years I've found.
To show you the difference between a booking with a one way fee or not;
First is East to West;
Second is SFO to LAX:
Don't neglect Quidco:

Yes, I read the page. And I was agreeing with you by giving an example of going direct with Avis, rather than Netflights and their made up one way fee.
In post number 8, the OP already noted that Alamo direct was £186.40.
It was in comparison to that that I stated that AVIS was expensive.
I understand that the thread is somewhat confusing, as the OP kept referring back to NetFlights. Old habits die hard.
It's probably just a problem with their databases, but better to avoid them altogether in that case.
Booking direct with Alamo confirms there is no one way fee and going in via Quidco brings the price in below NetFlights and RentalCars anyway. What the Americans call a "win - win".

Nope-that was a Netflight quote without the OW fee as it was LAX-SFO
(When I did go to Alamo direct it was £205 IIRC)

It got confusing because you failed to look at the links I gave for Netflights to show the OW fee disappeared for LAX-SFO
You constantly banged on about direct is best as there is no one way fee
Yes- I agree there is no OW fee with going direct BUT they are more expensive now that I've found the broker Netflights do no OW fee if i go LAX-SFO
Old habits die hard.
I've been hiring cars in USA and beyond for years and always checked out the brokers and going direct (and using Quidco etc)
Invariably I found the brokers to be miles cheaper.

Lets draw a line under this:
1. Going direct to Alamo\Hertz etc for this West cost trip gives no OW fee regardless of travel.
2. Going through Netflights has no OW fee if LAX-SFO and is cheaper by far than going direct.
I have found the answer to my original Q.
Thanks.
BTW
Yesterday I could not see the screenshots due to the filtering at work.0 -
Just got back from USA yesterday. Picked car up in San Francisco and dropped it at Vegas yesterday. No one way fees charged with Hertz. I booked through their USA site and paid $350 for 14 nights (Chevy Malibu size)0

Wrong, of course.

9% Cashback equalling £18.10 Total cost £183.40
But who am I to argue with a blind man?
