Sounds like a lovely birthday week to me, many happy returns!
  • Hello everybody. I have a question regarding BiK. In January my client sent me new amounts of medical benefit and when determining cash equivalent instead of deducting the employee contribution from cost of the benefit, I added it. I prepared BiK letters and sent them, and only after this I was informed about the mistake. Does any of you know how to correct this mistake? I would be grateful for any idea.

Gardenflower - you would be much better off posting this on the cutting tax part of the forum where there are some very knowledgable people who will be able to help you.

Thanks for replying to the previous post badmemory. And thank you all for your birthday wishes!:A
I'm seeing a friend tomorrow for a drink after work. She couldn't make last Friday evening because she had her eyebrows microbladed - I can't wait to see how they look!

Payday today so I have worked out my YNAB budget for the month. As bonus, pay and pay rise have been muddled together this month I have worked out my monthly budget on last month's pay and put everything extra into the new kitchen fund.

I'm a bit annoyed as because my medical insurance via work has gone up so much this year due to my age, I have exceeded my salary flexi-benefit by £142 so this will be deducted each month as a "Flexi salary sacrifice."." Accordingly, my pay rise has been swallowed up already. A few people in work have managed to get their medical insurance cheaper outside of work, but they are younger than me, plus a non-workplace medical insurance never seems to include pre-existing medical conditions or else charge a hefty surcharge for it.:(

Next month will be a lot clearer as I'll be able to see the bottom-line taxed figure after pay rise, flexi-sacrifice and my new pension payment.

Cumbria !!!8211; you asked about the pilates !!!8211; I've actually cancelled my sessions as from last weekend. As it worked out my instructor could only see me at weekends mid-day at the studio, but either she was away at workshops, holiday or I had something to do so I wasn't even attending a regular weekly session. As much as I felt stretched afterwards I was beginning to feel I was never actually improving. Another thing was it is quite expensive having a one-on-one session and I've been feeling lately that the money could go into the pension pot instead. Most of the classes I can easily get to in my area are weekday morning and the evening classes are either full or too far away. Perhaps it will be something to look forward to when I retire and have more time and I can attend some morning classes.

I've reached my first £25 payout on Opinium (that took ages!) and am awaiting for their email instruction on how to claim, which should be with me within a week. Up to £4.45 on PA. I've also swept a little bit across to the ad hoc savings fund with a tilly tidy and updated my signature.

Talking of signatures, I've added a line on how many months I have to retirement and will update each month to keep me positive!

My Evans package arrived !!!8211; the sandals are fine but I didn't like the two pairs of trousers at all so they are going back!:(

Tonight I'll be waiting in for my monthly Tesco grocery drop !!!8211; that's living it up!:D

  • Microbladed eyebrows sound painful. I just use tweezers on mine :rotfl:.

How annoying to have your payrise swallowed up .

I'm glad you like your new sandals, hopefully you'll be able to wear them soon :).

How about a Pilates dvd you can do at home? Cheaper and more convenient than classes.

36 months until retirement doesn't sound long!

  • Hi Seasidegal am a lurker on your diary. Good luck getting the payout survey with opinium. I am still waiting for mine and my pot is now up to £35! I have emailed them 4 times now. Lots of apologies etc but zilch. I had an email saying they will be changing their system so that we will be able to claim online like other survey companies so have given up and am going to wait for that. I will probably have £100 in it by then

Hi Hairy - my friend has had to rearrange our catch-up on Monday now - so I'll won't get to see her eyebrows till then! She did say that they look a bit dark at the moment but they go through various stages, almost disappearing after 8 – 10 days but then come back. Not really complete until after her top-up at the beginning of June.

Re a pilates DVD, I am ashamed to say that I do have one and have had it for quite a while (Darcy Bussell), but have only used it once! I also have one for yoga and a special yoga DVD for if you have a bad back. Hardly used as well and not for some time. Maybe this is the kick up the backside I need to start using them. I even have a proper mat to put on the living room floor.............:o

Hello arsenalbarnie  I did see the email about the change of system. But when I reached my payout I was told I would hear from them soon about how to claim, but after a day I did send them an email. This is the reply I got on Monday:

"Congratulations on passing the payment milestone.

You will (if you have not already) be shortly sent a quick survey asking you how you would like to be paid and collecting the necessary details from you for this to happen. This survey runs a couple of times a month – when we have a group of people who have passed the payment 'milestone' – so you may not have received it immediately.

When you receive the payment survey, you will be given the option to be paid by a bank transfer, cheque or Amazon voucher.

If you have not received this in the next week please get back in touch and I will arrange for your payment to be processed manually."

Well I haven't received the survey as yet so I will be touching base with them on Monday if I haven't heard by then so they can manually pay it. Is this the sort of thing you have received?

Bought my monthly toiletries top up today - £23.93 in Boots, but saved £4.57 on Johnson's face wipes - three for two. Also bought two bottles of Nivea Sensitive Shower Creme for £1 each, my Aveeno handcream, Garnier Micellar Face Wash, Simply eye make remover lotion, tissues and some sponge puffs for my powder compact.

Talking of powder compacts, does anyone know where you can buy a nice powder compact for refills. I've been using Max Factor Creme Puff but it doesn't have a mirror attached like the more expensive brands and I find this annoying when I want to touch up my face. I remember as I child my mum and her contemporaries all had a nice powder compact with mirror which they would refill with Max Factor pressed powder or other brands. I can't find them anywhere anymore, even online. Every time I see what I think is a nice one it turns out to be just a make-up mirror.:( Trials and tribulations of our First World life eh?

Monthly Tesco delivery arrived last night - £96.40 so that leaves me £8.76 each week for the remaining three weeks in the month for top up milk, etc (budget is £120 per month).
