Glad you have phoned the studio about Pilates. We have Pilates sessions at work twice a week. I may have to take a look. Looking forward to see how you get on with it.

    Enjoy the weekend SSG.

  • Hi Cumbria - yes it may be the way forward now that I’m older - low impact and works on strength, flexibility and balance - all of which need to be addressed!

Will look forward to hearing how you get on with the Pilates. One of my retired friends is a big fan of it. It's probably something I should be doing rather than pounding the treadmill.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • i did pilates while waiting for knee surgery. if i could still afford the one to ones, i'd be back there and i am absolutely no lover of exercise.

  • Nearly the end of the weekend. Can’t believe how quickly it’s flown by. :(

Yesterday was a complete NSD again. :j Stayed in all day - housework (catching up with the 30 day cleaning tasks I didn’t get round to doing in the week), did a big batch of chicken casserole in the crock pot for the freezer and wrapped up some more Xmas pressies - with the help of the trusty Baileys!:D

Today the main organising task was my clothes, but I left that and will tackle it next weekend as I was out today It’s a biggish job but I dont think it will take as long as it did last year as I’ve tried to keep it fairly organised throughout the year.

DSis, OH and little nephew dropped in and we all went out to lunch to a nice brunch type place near me. Damage in the end was £27! Nephew was as funny and entertaining as ever.

Catching up on the TV front tonight on programmes I have recorded and then bed!

Lovely day with your family. I agree weekends are never long enough . I am surrounded by Christmas cards , hoping to get some done, it is a task I dislike .

  • I’m leaving the cards till the end of the month. I’m getting lazier with them though - at one time I’d write all the envelopes by hand. Now it’s the good old label run........

I do labels too SSG. Although my card list is getting shorter every year due to sadly losing a few :(

To make the task more of an occasion, I write my cards with Christmas songs in the background and a glass of Baileys :) The writing gets worse as the glass empties.

I must admit to doing exactly the same SA! On my ipod I have a Christmas playlist – a real mix from Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole to The Darkness! And of course it includes my fav – Pogues' "Fairy Tale of New York!" To be honest I haven't turned it on yet because as I have started the wrapping early this year, and although I've imbibed the Baileys, I've not felt really "Christmassy" at home as the deccies won't go up till beginning of December and the radio station I listen to in the morning hasn’t started playing Christmas records yet!

On Monday my spends were just on my regular Monday lunch time coffees with my friend and also a top up at the Co-op for some food. I also stocked up on my yearly shop of black opaque pop socks in M&S to replace my worn, tatty pairs! Each pack contains three pairs and I bought three packs - £9, but used my M&S loyalty vouchers so only actually spend £1! NSD yesterday apart from Christmas pressies as follows:-

    • DSis and OH – I've bought them a voucher for a champagne afternoon tea at a rather nice hotel in London. As you can imagine their life has turned a little upside down since adopting little nephew and they are always time poor these days. So I thought something special they could do together as a couple would fit the bill.
    • DD and OH- From one of their favourite chocolate producers - block dark expresso for OH and butter salted caramels for DD.
Today I'll be ordering little nephew's pressie but will have to wait till I get home as I can't use the cashbacks sites at work anymore since the pesky IT upgrade!

Will also catch up on diaries then!

  • Your way of writing Christmas cards sounds good, although I would swop the Baileys for warm mulled wine :D.

Your pressies sound really thoughtful, I'm sure they will be appreciated.
