Can you fit in a small bureau? We have one from ikea in the living room. Its great for tidying away the mess when I'm not on the pc and we have managed to fit a monitor inside it by using a tv wall mount.Dedicated Debt Free Wanabee 🤓

easyJet have emailed me with a form to claim a refund. Before they said you had to telephone and someone here was referring to a three hour phone call which I couldn't face. My flights were 18/23rd April and the email came on the 1st May.2

A desk would make a big difference to your work. I hope you find something suitable - especially as work are footing the bill. The sunshine definitely makes a difference to our mood. I heard so many people saying they felt down when the good spell of weather broke. Hopefully we’ll have a few nice days before it breaks again.January spends - £587.583

The weather definitely helps , even if you can only it from the inside ! As for the desk, well I think we have covered that in our calls .Thanks for cheering me up with phone calls 😃Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.5

Thanks for all your lovely posts peeps! It's very odd but the thank you button has disappeared!
Sunshine – you always cheer me up and make me laugh whenever we speak on the phone!
Sorry I've been awol – I've had a pretty stressful couple of weeks with work, first, working off the laptop was getting me down and slowing me as well; secondly because work load has exploded this week. Lately I've felt that I've had enough screen time by the end of the day
I ended up ordering two monitors, relevant cables, an office chair and a folding camping table.
The monitors and chair are fine, but I mucked up when I measured the table as it's slightly too low. I really couldn't face packing it up and sending it back, but I've managed to get round the problem it by putting the monitor boxes on it and then placing the monitors on top of these! I've kept the ironing board in front of it as it is the right height for using the keyboard and mouse so at least I'm a lot more comfortable and quicker at doing the job than before. The chair has wheels too so I can whizz up and down the room!😁
One con though is that it all takes up about a quarter of the length of my living room and by the sound of it I'll be working like this until I retire next spring! Another con is that I'm having a battle getting the firm to pay up for it all – there is a limit on how much you can spend but I missed this bit! Basically I'm about c.£110 down if they don't cough up all of it. I said that I understand there has to be a limit of what you can order when working from home, but apparently the limit has not been raised since lockdown which I think is a bit daft since these are not normal times and I would not be working from home and ordering equipment anyway if it wasn't for the virus. I've only ordered what I would need to make my working day comfortable and to mirror as much as I can my working conditions in the office. The monitors and cables I ordered were those recommended by our IT department and the table was only £40. The chair with delivery was £183, but is a proper office chair as my back was beginning to kill me sitting on the Lloyd loom! Again it wasn't the most expensive out there and when surfing around I've found quite a bit of the slightly cheaper stuff has sold out due to the increase in WFH. Anyway the boss and our team leader are backing me up and the boss is doing a business case to present!
I'm still having problems sleeping - hence this early post! I've got the window open - it's overcast at the moment and has just started to rain, but feels muggy after yesterday's scorcher. The seagulls are making quite a racket - I really don't know why they're complaining - with all the hordes who came out of lockdown to our seafront yesterday there must have been quite a feast for them in thrown away fast food!
SCRIMPY MSE SPENDS
Nothing much again to report here (apart from the above!) – the usual supermarket, itunes, FB, lotto and toiletry buys. I also treated myself to a Quorn spice burger and chips from our local Wimpey who are still serving takeaways – I was feeling quite low and it cheered me up a bit!
I also bought three plastic baskets in the Factory Shop when I was on the way to Waitrose the other day - £1.99 each – two to keep my meds, plasters etc, and the other to house my shoe cleaning kit. These live in the top of one of my kitchen cupboards and it's always a faff to get to them so I can just pull out the baskets now if I need something
The yearly buildings insurance bill came in from the management company yesterday - £412! This peeves me off every year as I'm sure this could be done cheaper - £20 of it is an admin charge!
However, I finally got through to The Times subscription department and reduced my sub down from £43 to £26 Per month as I've cancelled the print bit and kept the digital. I only used to buy the print to read on my way to work whilst on the train so I didn't have to carry my laptop around, but all that's gone with the wind now.
I was due to fly up to Scotland with DSis and family on Friday to stay with DD and OH for the Whit weekend. This was booked by me some months ago and of course we're not going now. ☹️ However, EasyJet confirmed that they have cancelled the flights and so I have applied for a refund for us all.

Morning SSG, good to hear from you again. I’m glad you’ve got a proper office set up now, it does make life a lot easier. My work have sent out a survey asking how people feel about WFH. Makes you wonder what their plans are - mmm 🤔 Have a good day xxI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2
