Sorry about your colleagues grandson and hope he is doing ok.  We keep being told that it is not an issue for children and should be mild but I wondered on so little data how they could tell that for sure.  I am quite relieved that nurseries are closing down tomorrow and my little granddaughters wont be exposed to all sorts of germs there.

Awww poor child, poor family. It makes it all even more worrying if it starts to affect the children - that was its 1 positive attribute. I wonder if the little one had underlying issues.

How worrying for your colleague, I really hope the little boy comes through ok. It starts to become more real when you know someone affected by it.

Thank you all for posting and your good wishes for my colleague's little grandson.  He hasn't posted anything today, but I know that they are having to wait four days before they get his results

I was going to write a longer post, but have just heard on the news that all pubs, restaurants, leisure centres etc will now close for the foreseeable future.  I'm so gutted for my DSis – I can't write any more at the moment.  I'm off home to touch base with her.

Goodbye as well to the office for now – it's virtually empty and a shell of what it was…….

Did the measures announced help your DSis in any way?
    Take care x

Thank you both @brizzlegirl and @doingitanyway

The measures announced should help DSis - the company are having a meeting today to discuss the way forward. They do have enough banked for now but of course nobody knows how long this lockdown will continue. All the conferences and smaller family event bookings had already cancelled. They originally had two weddings booked for today and plus a Mother's Day lunch where tables were booked over all functions rooms.   One wedding cancelled on Thursday then later that day the head chef told DSis that their butcher had confirmed that they could supply enough meat/poultry for the wedding but not enough for the MD lunch!  So they took the decision to cancel the lunch.  The remaining bride came into the office in tears and was adamant she wanted the wedding to go ahead although she had cancelled the evening buffet and guests.  A difficult position for the firm but in the end the decision has been taken out of everyone's hands and the wedding is cancelled.  All brides have been given the opportunity of rescheduling to beyond autumn and into next year. The problem for this as a firm is  that of course if the booked weddings schedule for next year the slots have been taken for any new weddings so money wise the firm will be down on takings. ☹️

I brought in my wheelie trolly into the office yesterday and packed up all my stuff to take home in readiness for working remotely on Monday.  I left the City as dead as a dodo.  I managed to get some paracetamol on the off chance when I went into the Sainsbury local near the office for bananas.

When I left the office I noticed in our deserted reception that the florist had taken away the vase which contained the weekly flower arrangement they supply to our firm.  Their arrangements are truly beautiful but the firm won't need them now. Just a few petals left on the counter. Made me sad as that is another business that will feel the icy hand of this lockdown.😞

Right come on Seasidegal, cheer up and be positive!😀.  We've had some funny things posted on our team WhatsApp group including the most hilarious song about the CV sung to the tune of 'Torn' by an Irish band!  If it's there on YouTube somewhere please watch it!

I've spoken to my friends, some of which are in the vulnerable groups, and all are ok and putting on positive, brave faces.  DD's office announced working from home for all Thursday morning so she and OH headed up to their remote Scottish abode a day early. Had a lovely photo of a mountain sunrise from her this morning - they were off to climb it. Wish I was there too - only I dont think I could get up the mountain!😹

I've had an email from Argos to say my keyboard and mouse has arrived early so I'm off into town soon to pick them up. I'm stocked up food and household goods wise so no need to hit the shops at the mo.

And the sun is shining on a beautiful day here at Seasideville,

Keep positive all and have a good day. I'm so glad to have this board to stay in touch with you all!  You're all stars!🥰🥰🥰🥰

The only thing we can all do is stay indoors and stay positive.  Together we will beat it but everyone must comply.
