Thanks @doingitanyway! Nice to see you!👋
Lights have been a bit elusive the last two nights due to cloud. ☹️☁️☁️☁️ However the lectures have been interesting - the astronomical and others on various Norwegian topics. Went on an tour yesterday which culminated with a visit to a museum about the effects of the Nazi occupation during World War II on northern Norway. Very moving as the occupation culminated with the Nazis operating a 'scorched earth' policy when retreating from the Soviet army - whole towns were burnt down and the locals ended hiding in caves for months until liberated. On a brighter, happier note we went to a midnight concert in the local cathedral last night which was absolutely beautiful. A wonderful singer (very Enya) accompanied by a trumpeter and pianist - one of the highlights of the tour for me so far.We had a bit of a lie-in today as no tours till early evening. Have had brunch and just relaxing till next lecture later this afternoon.NON-SCRIMPY SPENDS
Apart from coffees and water I've bought two Agatha Christie novels on Kindle. I thought I'd re-read The Pale Horse after watching the recent TV adaptation. @redofromstart bought it for 99p the other day in the Kindle daily specials, but it had gone up to £2.99 by the time I got there! Also bought 'The Seven Dials Mystery' which I haven't read before. Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

I like both books a lot, and the TV thing had so little relation to the book that it was actually ok. The cruise sounds excellent, I would have said absolutely not me but your description has actually made me think rather than assume. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Hi @redofromstart👋 I liked the Pale Horse TV adaptation. It has been so long since I read the book that the fact that it had been turned a bit on its head didn't bother me while watching. It wasn't a Poirot or Marple so I didn't miss my Suchet or Hickson portrayals!Saw some nice Lights on the way back from my evening tour and also on deck when I got back. Clouded over a bit now but should be clear later on. DD will be joining the ship from her horse ride when we dock again soon. Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

Sorry you missed your horse ride. Maybe you could arrange one at a local riding school with DD as compensation?Dedicated Debt Free Wanabee 🤓

All sounds totally amazing. Like everyone else has said, very envious but you so deserve this time away.

I'm missing the holiday news. Like Redo, I would not have thought of a cruise but you have changed my mind. I hope you are still away enjoying it.If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them
