Your cruise sounds wonderful - I've never been to Norway but the photos look totally stunning. Have a super time!

  • Thank you both! 👋👋

More beautiful scenery today. Very Lord of the Rings!  What I especially like about this cruise is that dress wise it's very informal - no real dressing up for dinner - people go in still dressed casual from their trips etc. And no awful 'entertainment!,  just nice lectures and a round up from the expedition and tour team on what's gone on today and reminders about the next day. However they did celebrate the Arctic Circle crossing today. The Norse God of the Sea paid us a visit on deck (funnily enough he looked at bit like one of the tour team under his Gandalf wig and beard!) and offered his 'blessing'. Basically he 'blessed you on the freezing deck while the captain stuck some ice down your back!  You got a free drink if you were up for it!  DD was (game girl that she is!) while I decided I was cold enough already!😁

Weather has been snowy and blizzardy all day but things are calming down now and were all hoping for clear skies later on to hopefully see some Lights! ❄️❄️❄️❄️

  • ........oh and I've also remembered that today was the end of SCRIMPY WEEK 4 - FEBRUARY.
I'm a bit out of kilter MSE wise being on holiday - basically I managed to save the Weekly Ad Hoc spends. I'll do a recce tomorrow when my new month begins!

  • The scenery sounds amazing , I hope you have some good photos. Glad DD is able to enjoy some exciting trips as well. Hope all the warm clothing is coming in useful. Enjoy the rest of your cruise.
Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.

  • SCRIMPY WEEK 1- MARCH
Have checked my bank account and have been paid today. I've sorted out all my YNAB pots - again I was slightly over budget on the usual suspects - eating out/coffees and books/downloads so have topped up these categories before completing all my budget categories. I've still managed to put across extra cash to the workplace pension this month so that's a good positive. 😀

Still, whilst I'm on holiday I'm not raiding any pots as it only seems to be Iley coffees and sparkling water that I'm spending on and these are already covered by my holiday budget cash.

I've been trying to think what I've got on for the rest of March when I get back.   DD's stepson's OH had a little boy just as we arrived here so I will be sorting out a gift for the baby - also I have a couple of birthday cards to buy for.  I can't really remember anything else apart from catching up with pals when I get back - perhaps some cinema trips as well.

Sounds wonderful. I hope you're keeping warm. Is the ship comfortable? I think I remember you were going on a well known ship that incorporates both goods delivery and tourism.

It sounds as if you’re having a great time. Especially The Northern Lights. I’m very impressed you’re even thinking finances whilst on holibobs. Your a better woman than me.
