Can a SLIDING HASP BOLT be added to a upvc door?

I wanted to change the locks so that way noone including the landlord would have a copy. However, the landlord has said he wants a key if I change the lock, which totally defies the point in me changing the locks. So what I am wondering is if theres anything I can add to the door that even if the landlord has a key he still could not enter?
OK the problem with that is the Landlord is demanding a copy of the key if I change the keys, so thats why I am wondering if there is anything I could add to the door which means that even if the landlord or the previous owner used the key they couldnt open the door?
If there is absolutely nothing I could add to door to make this happen, then how about atleast something that I could add to the door when Im inside the house?0 -
I have a handyman coming round to do a few things, can you tell me the exact things I need ie links ebay/amazon that I can give the handyman and ask him to change the lock?0

I just called a local company who supply euro cylinders/locks etc and he said I first have to remove the lock and measure the size and then buy a new euro cylinders for the correct size. So looks like I will be stuck as handyman is already booked. Does anyone know how I can check the size of the lock?0

This will show you what you need to measure.

There are loads of videos on youtube as well,
Would something like this be of any use:

Another option is even easier. A piece of wood cut to the right length and with a V notched in one end securely pushed under the internal door handle to stop it being lowered.0 -

Thanks for the replies, I like the Frostfire 5014 Dual-Function Home Security Bar but seems like a hassle to put on and off every day, is there anything else similar to that which is a bit easier does anyone know?0 -
Your padlock hasp would leave screwholes in the door, landlord won't be happy. A new door can cost hundreds. Do you really think your landlord will use a key to enter? If so then the type of person who would do that would probably force entry if you locked him / her out. In those circumstances I'd look for another property with a better LL. If changing the barrel Yale anti snap / high security range are great for peace of mind. You could always ask your handyman to call round and measure the cylinder in advance for a few £ extra, handymen usually willing to sort stuff like that for £10 or something.Mr Generous - Landlord for more than 10 years. Generous? - Possibly but sarcastic more likely.0

THanks for the replies, I asked the handyman if he could pop by before he comes over in 1 week and he said he was too busy, so I just said I will buy a few different size Yale Euro Cylinder Locks and he can just use the one that fits. Trouble is there are many sizes 35/45, 50/55 etc, 16 different sizes in total, so I wanted to ask you if you know which are the most common sizes? and would the locks on the below link be suitable for my door? my door is a UPVC door

The video I referred to earlier (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X9A915L_mlk) shows how to measure it without removing anything.
If you're going down the route of changing the cylinder, I would hesitate to buy one from the link you provided. Cheap cylinders are cheap for a reason. You'll pay a bit more, but consider getting a kitemarked one, such as this:

Not particularly recommending that site, just the first I found. Personally, I'd go to a hardware supplier and buy off the shelf for cash. That way there is no link from the sale to my address, but maybe I'm just a bit paranoid.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. The video I referred to earlier (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X9A915L_mlk) shows how to measure it without removing anything.
I watched the video and Ive measured the part and its 5cm from the middle of the screw to the end of the outside and 4.5cm from the middle of the screw to the end of the inside.
But which cylinder size should I get? any links on ebay/amazon would be great.0 -
You want a 45/50 cylinder, something like this:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Superior-Cylinder-Security-Composite-Profile/dp/B018GUGEOQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1474827469&sr=8-1
It is anti-snap on both sides, so it doesn't matter which way round it goes. Some cylinders are anti-snap on one side only, which must be the one facing outside.
Not as cheap as the ebay one you referred to, but you get what you pay for.
These are an even higher standard and have the anti-snap on the outside, going by your measurements:
