This is potentially positive but it's not going to be a massive deal. I am sure that we could find a fair amount to trade with Australia but I can't think of much off the top of my head. I can't see why they'd buy vehicles or perishable goods from us because of the sheer distance involved but I can't pretend to be a trade expert.
I read today that we trade the same amount with Sweden as Canada. Perhaps Canada would be a good deal if we can increase the trade.0 -
When will the people of Londonland realise it wasn't about the economy or immigration well maybe it should be when the population of Londonland is made up of 36% immigrants .What i voted leave for was we did not sign up to the rules and laws that come from unelected jobsworths when we joined the common market .Many brave men and women gave up there lives fighting for us to stop us being ruled by others. And now what we have in this country are spoiled children who are now so called educated adults who didnt even research the issues of the referendum and march around London led by a bloke in a pink hat thinking that the minority view is right .And dont even start me on Scotland one thing if they want to leave the UK then let the English vote as well and then we will finally get rid of them and put a Electric fence along the top of Hadrian's Wall.:rotfl:Nice to save.0

Don't forget the EU directive that said a small working class business owner must write "contains fish" on the packs of Salmon he sells. Costs him 4k a year too.
"Under EU labelling regulations, following widespread public consultation, passed by the European Parliament, and introduced as a Statutory Instrument by our UK government under the Fish Labelling Regulations 2013, packaging for fish products also has to include, for example:

• the ‘best before’ or ‘use by’ date
• the quantity
• the commercial designation of the species (ie an agreed common name for the species of fish)
• the production method (ie whether caught at sea, caught in inland waters or farmed)
• the catch area (ie either the ocean area, or in the case of freshwater fish, the country in which it was caught or farmed)
• any allergens
• the scientific name
• a declaration on whether the fish was previously frozen

That's a much bigger requirement than just having to say the product 'contains fish'.

Since all food products need to be packaged and labelled anyway, can it really be claimed that it 'costs more' to add some extra information on the label - information that most shoppers actually want?

And having a standard for labelling across our continent makes it easier for exporters. The costs of labelling would be much higher if each EU country had different standards for labelling."

i can only assume that your next move will be to campaign for civil servants and members of the House of Lords to be elected so that your grand vision can come true.0 -

EU labelling regulations has been a life saver, literally;), for those of us with food allergies and intolerances. :T0 -
I guess you are equating Juncker with the British Cabinet Secretary? If so then your case is unusually weak. We rarely if ever hear from the Cabinet Secretary yet regularly get Juncker laying down the law according to his "civil service".
I also have to assume that you are claiming that we are ruled by the House of Lords. This also seems to be adjusting the facts to suit your theory.
Have I misunderstood your points?0 -

Do you think that the laws of the UK are written by MPs? It works in the same way as the European Parliament.
Our parliament has two houses plus the monarch. The British electorate vote for the smaller of the two houses. In order to obtain full control of the country, as aspired to by many, surely the only possible solution is to ensure that both houses are filled with elected members.0 -
