Carney does a u-turn!

So, from being a gloom and doom remain merchant our BoE guv'nor, Mark Carney has changed his tune to being upbeat on the UK being a global trader!

Conclusion, even with all that economic data at his fingertips he didn't have a clue what was going to happen, so he toed the government line and voted remain. In fact no one knows, and in reality it won't make any difference.

How do people just get so comfortable lying, yes I know both sides lied, but Mark, was apparently quite relaxed about it.

Ah well I guess that's how you get up the ladder to greater things,

Cheers fj

I think that sentence perfectly sums up the quality of logic on display in that post and views.

    Genuine question.

Was Mark Carney entitled to vote?

There used to be a time when the Governor understood tact and discretion - qualities which to this fellow seem a thing unknown!

The obvious answer would be the emergency budget which was clearly a cheap scare tactic.

Brexiters will say that the doom and gloom about negotiating trade deals was a lie but we won't know for a few years. As far as I am concerned I remain very worried. Europe continue to play hard ball on the subject of free movement of people with four countries declaring recently that they would veto any agreement without free movement. Norway have said 'on your bike' to us rejoining EFTA.

Japan has made a huge statement that her companies would have to reconsider their continued U.K. presence if they don't like the agreement that we get with the EU. The US have said that we aren't top of their to do list (although a change in administration is obviously due and the position might change).

I have a genuine question... a lot was made by Brexiters that we can negotiate deals with the commonwealth. What are we going to sell to these countries? We don't produce a great deal of things any more and a lot of them are a very long way away and often poor. I can think of whisky and some specialist foods but not much else. Perhaps I'm missing something glaringly obvious.

It's strange Carney has changed his tune when the Times yesterday balanced it with this
