Returns for home delivered mobile phone

Hi
I've been having a nightmare with a new contract (16th August - Samsung S6 EE if relevant) and was hoping for some advice please.
After 2 weeks, I had to have the handset replaced as it was getting too hot on charge (fast charge - burning). Now, 2 and a 1/2 weeks in, the usb port from my PC is inconsistently working. Fast chargers no longer work) so limited options to charge my phone. It still gets hot, but nowhere near as much as the last one. This phone now won't be replaced, but is being sent off for repairs.
I was hoping for clarity on the "new rules" towards returns.
It seems peculiar that I've had two bad experiences in just over a month and only repairing is the best that can be done. I've barely had a chance to use the phone to see if I even like it (the first two weeks were dealing with heat issues).
What I really want to do is cancel anything to do with this phone, it may well be a bad batch, but now I'm left with one from the bad batches, on a potential constant repair cycle.
It's not a straight forward "you've exceeded 28/ 30 days for online returns" as there was a replacement in the middle of my usage/ trial period.
Thanks in advance

Have you spoken to EE and mentioned your disappointed that the second phone has had the same fault. I could be wrong here but the phone and contract are 2 separate items and you wont be able to cancel.
If the phone still has the same fault when you get it back then contact EE and tell them, tell them your disappointed its not been fixed/or another fault has occured and you would like to know what your options are.0 -
Maybe it was the usb port on your computer and not the phone causing the failure.0

Thanks DCFC79, I intend to try things just like that, but I don't hold out any hope. I just feel cheated out of the contracts obligations over my own experience, or lack there of. I wasn't sure if it was meant to be a trial period for the customer or the contract is as it is, and no wiggle room.
mobilejunkie, I did try multiple variations of cables, with a spare fast charger plug, all the same results and the usb from my PC is the only way I could charge my phone. No other method would allow it to charge (outside of wireless charging as I don't have that available).0 -

Do you have a plug socket you can use? You can buy a plug with a USB socket included in it and then plug in, voila, a charger attached to your wall. They aren't expensive and you'd be able to see if it was the USB connecting to your PC rather than the handset itself (and you can continue to use the plug for other phones once you upgrade in however many years time so it could be seen as an investment).0
