Thank you chick, listed 18 items on ebay tonight
, my fingers hurt from all that typing :rotfl: 0 -
Little update, two of my listings ended on ebay today so that's an extra £21.50 :j.
Just 15 more items to go.... some end in a few days and some in a weeks time so shall update then too.
Have lots of books to list too, but shall wait until all the other listings have ended first.
Not going out anywhere today so should be a NSD.0 -
well done & keep up the good work. Re the clothes do you actually need to spend so much? Sounds like an awful lot to me!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0

It differs from month to month, sometimes it could be more, other times less, or not at all
.
Sorted through my wardrobe the weekend and definitely don't need to buy anymore for at least the next couple of months or so.0 -
Had a meeting with my line manager this morning, as you can probably gather from my first post, i'm unhappy in my job at the moment. We discussed the possibility of "downgrading" which would mean less workload, pressure and stress, which would then enable me to do the course which i want at college and have more time to apply for better jobs.
Seriously considering this option as it's only a £50-£70 drop in my wages and would then enable me to try and get out the company asap with better chances.0 -
£50-£70 drop in salary is not so bad with the position you are financially but it's not a very well paid job to begin with is it? But for the sake of your health and wellbeing maybe worth it.
Going back a bit now in the thread, have you and your parents considered getting Wireless broadband as this will allow more than one connection in different parts of the house... If you are with Orange mobile and paying over so much per month you can get this free........ Otherwise you and your parents could split the cost between you, would probably be less than 2 seperate connections currently.
Just a thought.....I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -
I can only voice what everyone else has - bit good luck i am sure you will be debt free in no time if you follow the advice given
March 2006 £15,200+ in debt April £843.64 in debt - Debt Free date Sept 2009
Egg Credit Card - £843.64 5.7%0 -
Good luck with all this, in theory if you can keep that 385 quid spare from leaving your purse, you should be able to pay the debt off in a month.Here's my monthly SOA:
Incoming:
* £950 per month
Outgoings:
* £120 - rent to parents - i know its cheeky bout could you ask for a month or two off while you clear these extotianate debts? it shouldnt take long to catch up again
* £20 - internet connection - as some one else rightly said get a wireless router and share the rental, get the rents to get a router as the cost will be similar to the connection price they would have paid anyways
* £35 - mobile phone (started the contract in April) - if you can downgrade this great
* £20 - Capital One (have a balance of £180, with quite a high apr,trying to clear this off ASAP so will budget for the rest of the month and will try to pay it off in full then)
* £20 - Studio (balance of around £200, the balance never seems to go down as they take a service charge of almost half of what you pay each month, as above trying to clear this asap) - service fee! get this debt moved somewhere else, even if its an overdraft, sounds like 10 pound a month is being wasted here
* £40 - Travel to work
* £100 - Clothes - as you already are doing ebay the stuff you dont wear and cut back on this for a while
* £100 - Socialising - if possible cut back on this, or drink less, although tbh this is one of my vices as well lol
* £60 - Cigarettes (cut down quite a lot and am looking to quit) - good luck, contact the NHS about this they may be able to help, some people on here have done free schemes so saves money on patches
* £50 - Lunch and snacks at work (this is another problem area, may start taking packed lunches and cut all the snacks out and take it from home instead) - 50 a month on food which could be made for free from home, this is a cutback ive made and it is much healthier and you can control better what you eat
Total = £565
Remaining: £385
Obviously the remaining depends in what i'm doing that month, i.e. weekend away, parties, birthday presents etc.
I have an ISA account and am looking to put more into that monthly. I bought a pink pig money bank from Clintons yesterday and have started putting all my spare change in their, 20's, 50's, £1's, £2's etc, then when it's full i will then transfer it into my bank savings account.
To be honest i would withdraw every penny of these savings to clear off these two cards, especially the service fee card!
Savings are usually lower interest that debt, but then when adding fees as well
I know whre i'm going wrong, lunches, magazines, nights out with the bf where sometimes i feel i contribute to a little more,even though he earns a fair amount then i do. Just needed this for a little kick me up the bum
This weekend i shall be having NSD's, continue job searching and listing things onto ebay where i already have 10 people watching
.
Sorry for the rambling and if anyone as got this far then well done :T.
Just in time for christmas

For what i do, it certainly isn't well paid. I guess it's okay for my age, this is the first job i've had since leaving school, so just need to adjust to the changes etc. You're right, it isn't worth it and i'm going to arrange a meeting with my managers during the week.
Managed to pay off my Studio debt :T, just the Capital One to go, which should be cleared at the end of the month.
Also filled in an application form for another job today so fingers crossed.
The Internet Connection: My parents are looking into the Wireless Connection.0 -
Thank you for your reply, what you said made a lot of sense and it is appreciated.
Internet connection - We have connection downstairs and my own upstairs, i had to pay seperately for this as it wouldn't allow to run both ways without a seperate connection being installed.
Sorry missed this bit before
Who told you this? Whos the connectio with?
There isnt a connection out there that cannot be shared either via a router, or some simple jiggery pokery in windows0
