    your full of rubbish.

Actually you come across as being extremely proud you flout the law.

Just because you don't agree. And by the sounds of it can't focus your own concentration... Doesn't mean it's rubbish.

I'd love to see REAL stats about accidents CAUSED by phones compared to number of accidents caused by other things. Also stats with number of people who use phones whilst driving versus number of accidents it has actually caused.

There's also been a number of cases where serious accidents have been caused by people using satnavs whilst driving - yet society doesn't seem to throw those on the fire in the same way.

I see plenty of people drifting all over the road also for plenty of other reasons.
The difference with mobiles is the fact they are trying to change public perception to combat it. Which is working. We don't see big signs saying using satnav kills or seeing to children kills.

    So tell me... What's safer...

    A phone to the ear
Or writing a text which is secured in a phone holder

Yet the latter isn't classed as using a mobile device

he is one of those who cant accept that you don't need to be holding it to be "using" it concept of the law.

same as those who are holding it using it asa satnav cant accept that they are still "using it".
Lets just hope karma catches up.

If it's mounted using it wouldn't be in dispute. The question being is it still hand held?

Even if technically "hands-free" you would most likely still be prosecuted if using it for texting or similar activity.

Existing offences for not being in control of the vehicle, careless or indeed dangerous driving.
