Not being funny - but whilst you might feel like you are doing your bit to stop other people having these problems - more often than not you will just switch the developer off from trying to make an effort with your individual case.

It sounds like they could try and resolve and it still wouldn't be enough.

A thread like this puts people off using the company and is very likely to cost them money, so the OP is absolutely achieving something here, despite some posters deciding they don't like his/her approach.

Put "David Wilson Homes quality" into Google.

If only the OP had done that before buying.

Although in fairness I imagine if you put '<any housebuilder> quality' into google you will get a similar result.

I'm still struggling to see why buying a new build was the only option.

It would be nice, one day, to see a house builder put their head over the parapet in this forum and reply. We can be pretty sure that someone from "dwh" is reading this and choosing to not engage in public.

Yes it could get ugly, but if a representative posts officially, and helpfully, it would give them a huge amount of kudos. I'm sure many reading this are put off buying a new home, and a dwh new home specifically.

It's too late for me however, give me a used home every time.

It is bloody cold comfort to the OP but I have shown the list of faults to a few people and they are horrified! I complained about things that were wrong in my kitchen and downstairs WC when we had it fitted but it pales when it compared to that list! I love new builds but this thread has given me a pause!
  • You've effectively bought a Barratt Home.

David Wilson Homes was bought out by Barratts back in early 2007 and the David Wilson brand is now used instead of it's Kings Oak 'range'.
 Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway...
  • We currently have a list of 41 snags and have been waiting four weeks for an opportunity to discuss these with David Wilson Homes and move forward.
