Just found this link http://mashable.com/2007/09/23/open-source/ which has links to 480+ Open Source Applications. . Quite a few of them are new to me, so, hopefully, they will be of some use to forum members.

Is this appropriate ?, if not shoot me!.

I am searching for freeware, in particular a photo editing site that will allow me, simply to reduce/crop/frame etc, and then drag and drop onto a sheet, so that I can print off an A4 sheet with the varying chosen pics.

I did have a suite once, but afetr a mad clear up ages ago, I deleted it and left myself with Picasa 2. Of late I've found a disc with Photoshop Elements, and downloaded FxFoto, and Irfanview, Photofiltre, Paint.net, but although each of these have their good points, I cannot get them to do what I want. I do feel that U lead may be the one I'm after, but haven't been able to successfully find a link that will download.

Yeh islandman, thegimp is what you need, taking a bit of learning but you can acheive similiar results to Photoshop/Paint shop pro with it.

Cheers HoofeHearted, have added it to the list of places.

Oh by the way every open source fan out there, remember the new release of Ubuntu is out tomorrow, Gutsy Gibbon.

Faststone Image Viewer is a neat and easy to use little program and can do the first bits (and plenty of others).

Once you've done your editing, why not copy your images into a document in a DTP program to satisfy the second requirement?

Me too, it was on Gizmo's Support Alert Newsletter, which I received today. This is a monthly newsletter connected to the excellent site often mentioned here.

    i.e. http://www.techsupportalert.com/best_46_free_utilities.htm

Seems a coincidence you coming across the site the day it was in the news letter.
Hope you're not trying to pass it off as your own find. ;)

Apologies if it was pure coincidence.
    Move along, nothing to see.
