XnView (portable and better than IrfanView),
Essential PIM (best portable contacts manager),
DVDFlikr (easily turn you Divx, Avi. Mpeg onto DVDs watchable on normal players),
Cybershredder (deletes files safely and completely, portable),
And FSCapture (the best screen capture utility ever).

All portable (but not mentioned in Portableapps.com) on my USB drive, Free and absolutely superb.
Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????

Perhaps we can all add our faves and get a definitive list added as a sticky subject?

I've loads of anti-spyware / security software to add, I'll compile a list later.
  • Rather than type out the full list, I go here when I need freeware

The list is broken into business areas and has a short description for each.

The stickies do need cleaning up, not sure what it could replace or merge with (the mods won't introduce additional stickies as there's enough already, I remember talking to them about it a while ago).

Also worth thinking about whether it's worth it, remember that as soon as you put "Sticky" in front of a subject it turns invisible for most people. Proper stealth technology.

Cheers for your input guys, some very useful apps there and plenty I'd never seen which I'm going to give a try.

Cheers for those links needaspirin and Reluctant_spender, I will have a look through and pick out any we don't have and pick out the useful looking ones.

Will update my first post later with what has been added.

    Cheers
  • If you use Excel a lot this is a great free add-in

Always good to know about these freebies, but The_JinJ did the same thread a while back.

And yes, there should be a definitive list as a sticky. :)

I've recommended this site in these forums since I was introduced to it here a couple of years ago. It's got an RSS feed and/or a newsletter, so you can keep up to date with what's out there...
