We all know my situation with my 40 year-old house from my other thread about my FTB, but in addition a friend just about to exchange on the sale of her 10 year-old house has had a letter from her buyer's solicitor to say they don't like the colour of the toilet seat and they're not happy that the neighbour's fence is wonky and would like both those things corrected before they exchange. Yes really.
Oh I lurked on your thread too! Where do these unrealistic expectations come from, do you think? I bet solicitors are rubbing their hands with glee...0 -

I bet solicitors have their own forum somewhere where they share their stories of ridiculous client requests. I'd love to see it.Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0 -

I'd love to join it...
I also wish we were rubbing our hands with glee... unfortunately with fixed fee and everyone trying to haggle there's no time to give a file or client anything near the attention we'd like to these days.
Oh to be an estate agent who just needs to ring up and ask how are things going and then get a £3 - £15k (or so) pay check at the end of it whilst the solicitors take all the risk, do all the work and get a measly £500 - £1k - if they're lucky!0
