Quick update, I cancelled today quoting the Sky deal, I was offered £11 plus line rental which I declined and was then offered £50 credit making 12 months 185+132-50 = £22.25 Broadband 70mbps + weekend calls. I still cancelled as Sky is still cheaper at £15.36.

Good to know. How much hard ball did you have to play to get to that stage with them ?

I spoke to their live chat today as I want to add a phone line to my BB only package, cheapest they would offer me was £45 p/m which I thought was absurd, because what I was asking for they offer for £28 to new customers(with TV too) gonna give retentions a wack in the morning.

I just said I want to cancel as Sky fibre is £15.36 all in for a year, I never give them stick in the call centre as it gets you nowhere just keep saying you're leaving, be polite, tell them thanks for trying to help etc... at the end of the day their system shows what deals they can offer you and I think they get a bit of leeway on credits but I have never had more than £50. Be warned the phone queue was about 20 mins. Also the Sky deal ends on the 29th I think so get in quick. I also never upgraded to 70mbps from 50 on purpose as they always use their speed as a sales tactic, I was happy on 20mbps and told they guy that.

Cheers, will use that sky deal as leverage. I have to be a tad careful because I actually want to stay with them :D

But they dont know that - thats the key. I'm going to have my call with them tonight also using the above sky deal as leverage.
  • I was paying £20.25 for 70MB. This included a £10 loyalty discount that expires 21/12/16.
I received the letter re price increase and called to see what they could do.
I was eventually offered ( after threatening to cancel) 6 months at £22.25 and then 6 months at £25.25 plus a one off credit of £50 on a 12 month contract This works out at £19.58 per month over 12 months.
I have today reveived the contract to sign on line and the £7 discount runs from month 7 through to 18.
I will of course be calling after 12 months to get another deal or earlier if the price goes up!

Thanks for this info, £19.58 looks like the benchmark to aim for. :T
  • Spoke to them today, they offered me £29 for Phone & BB without much effort.

Fair bit more than what others got offered but I have no intention of actually leaving and need it sorting out asap for business.

I was paying £35 for BB only anyways, so I didn't haggle and accepted the offer. Got a phone landline now and my bill is £6 cheaper.

Pretty much same here for 12 months 50mb BB/phone that I accepted:
    £184 + 6m @ £9.48 + 6m @ £12.48 - £50 credit = 22.15 p/m
