How frustrating. I sometimes think, despite all the flack they get, being an estate agent isn't such an easy way to make money.0 -

As an ex EA with over 30 years experience trust me it isn't an easy way to make money.
I got to the stage where I hated the human race!! :rotfl:
(Only joking).
But there were days..........
Could be wrong but sounds like it's the vendor here who's doing all the mucking About.
Best thing to do is let everyone know you are still interested (if you haven't been put off by now) and then just wait and see. The EA is probably just as exasperated as you are.
I wouldn't hold your breath though, maybe keep looking at other properties too.0 -
I sometimes wonder how anyone ever moves. When you think about it there are so many things to get in place. So many people to consider and to keep happy.
So glad I am not planning on moving anytime soon.
OP keep looking at other houses. The house I am sure was perfect in your eyes but nothing is ever really perfect so take a break for a month or so and then start looking again.
The only tiny thing I would say is don't discount something or start to fall in love based on what you see on right move. We saw one gosh looked perfect. Really perfect. Massive garden everything done. We went to see it and I think it was attack of the EA's magic camera. It was a mess.
There is nothing like actually looking around so go start to view other houses. We had given up on ours and god knows how managed to hang on it and get it so I do understand that it is hard to give up on something esp a house. I have been there got the tea shirt it was hell and I never understood it when people said it was stressful. But it is your home and you have to be happy. I would still for what it is worth put a letter through the door.
It may be that they are taking the house off the market with that EA and re-marketing with another ? No harm in asking?Happiness, Health and Wealth in that order please!:A0 -
When a property I bid and lost out on came back on the market a fortnight later, the agent rang me. I bid the vendor's minimum as I didn't want to lose it again and live there now. Estate Agents just want a sale so if they didn't call you it's because they think the original sale might still go through or tgey think no sale will go through. It sounds like the latter unfortunately.Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0

The mistake may have been that your fiance let them know he was connected to you.
If they called as an independent person a few days after your first call back to the estate agent, they may have been completely different and invited him for a viewing. Then you would be in a stronger, more knowledgable position.0 -

Is that what the lot round your office are like, really?........:rotfl:0 -

Bottom line is their sale fell through, treat the agent like something you found on your shoe and be very clear with the seller that they are now going to have to consider a lower offer.0
