Me and my fianc! found out ideal house a month ago, made a few offers (asking price) but was unsuccessful! The house came back onto the market late on Sunday!
Obviously we are still very interested so I phoned the estate agent to find out why it was back on and if we could view again.
She seemed really off with me and unhelpful, she just said she didn't know if they were taking viewings this week?!
She also said the buyers pulled out because the venders circumstances changed and they needed to change the time frame of exchange.
After speaking to my fianc! he rang a couple of hours later where again she was very off and when he asked about a viewing she said they were fully booked for today (yesterday -Monday) amd that she'd get back to us which she never did.
We just find this really odd as last time their was just us and another couple interested n they said they wanted asking price to be able to buy the house they had bid on. So we'd gone to asking price etc! Does this sound odd? Or can anyone offer advice?

how many offers is "a few"? Upping it a tenner a time would have annoyed them.
Also if you know it is the house for you, why do you need another viewing before offering?2021 GC £1365.71/ £24000 -
Sounds like vendor has mucked everyone around and agent has decided they are not motivated to sell so don't want to waste time on it any more.
When they say "fully booked" for viewings they don't mean this property, they mean the agent's time.
Could be a host of other reasons though. You could try a note through the door to owners.0 -
Don't act too keen. Estate agents are lowlife and would sooner lose one sale and move on to the next buyer than humble themselves in any way.0

I'd also get round the obstructive agent - by just putting a note through the door of the house. What have you got to lose by doing that? You'll kick yourself if you don't at least try to get it.0

Just call to the house and knock the door ask the vendors whats what, the estate agent work for the vendors not you.0
 -
Put in another offer, since you've already viewed it, and see what happens.0

Put in a lower offer and walk if not accepted, this vendor is playing games and has ended up with egg on his face"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

Well they were very keen on us last time as they seemed really professional compared to all other estate agents we've dealt with - but I fully agree with you glasgoden!
Yeah our plan today is to just put in an offer and see what happens. My fianc! wanted to go and see it again as when we looked last time the vender said he was making some improvements to the place so we just wanted to see if he'd finished them.
We considered that but we don't actually live near the house we want to buy as we're moving out of area etc0 -
It might not hurt to send a note to the seller saying you've placed an offer - just in case the agent is up to any tricks such as not pushing the property so they can keep it for themselves.0

I'm not sure why people are thinking the EA would be doing things to stop you buying the house.
EAs make their money by selling houses.
I'd say it's much more likely that the vendor is refusing viewings. Maybe the vendor can't decide whether they still want to sell, or maybe they're in dispute with the EA, or maybe they are just pretending to re-market the house to scare the current buyers.
I would just tell the EA that you are still interested, and to give you a call when things are clearer.0
