Is this still the same flippin' take it until October med ? I don't know how you can keep your patience .
Thanks for the stool info I'll be looking at that and LWs suggestion later .
Hope you feel a bit less wobbly now .

Polly.....I forgot to wear a mask..... you are right I should have done. And yes I wear a "proper" one rather than the little disposables. The danish oil was the real culprit, the paints I use are low VOC ones so not too bad. It was definitely the oil that did it.

I was reading the other day how chemicals can affect fibro as well as IBS which might seem to confirm my theory the two conditions might be linked. The article mentioned plastics.

Yes I have tried the posh Himalayan salts too, fantastic but a bit expensive. I add lavender oil to the Epsom salt bath. Helps me sleep.

Yes my sons bed is lovely. Again slept like a babe last night.

Got a massage booked for tomorrow. And I have decided to give in and have a steroid injection for my meniscus injury. Hopefully it will break the pain cycle so I can start walking and exercising more and so help myself more in the long run.

I am going to give boswelia a trial.....

    Evening all!

Polly - never mind not knowing what day it is after a bank holiday....I struggle on a 'normal' week....I might recall a Sunday.....it helps that Mum is usually here all morning for coffee, crochet and reading-aloud!....Now that autumn is approaching I am hoping the TV will get me some context for days of the week....eg, today is Tuesday, but it is also Bake-Off day!

I went to the chemist and collected a sack load of meds....it was a bog lot because I was collecting skin products too (soapless gunk, moisturiser, shampoo, cremes and salves...all my skin prescriptions)....I had three papers to sign and date....and somehow managed to write a different date on each sheet!....and this was AFTER checking the wooden calendar the chemist has on the shelf!

I am well jealous of all you folks who have lovely relaxing baths....I REALLY miss having a bath!....I have a walk in shower which is great, and means I can bathe unaided....my dyspraxia means I don't have a snowball's chance of getting in/out of a bath......but oh I would love an aromatherapy soak! (I used to keep a selection of oils and blend my own in the 'olden days')

The reading cushions sound great...I have been looking for something like that...one that can be used in bed for supporting me when I read/do crosswords but also in my armchair for extra support.

We have a busy week ahead - kids are back to school and me back to work plus a wedding to attend! Lots of stress but it has to be done I suppose.
Been looking at some recipes and am going to start off quite basic and build it up from there. Looking for a good soup recipe but unsure how stuff like stock cubes etc fit in to it all?

D&G I reckon a dark sense of humour and an obstinate nature get us through lifes ups and downs . Thanks for another vote for that stool . It took me a moment to process Sons of Anarchy eating fruit . I take it you were the fruit eater !
Caronc Perhaps we should call them the meds of doom in the future . Roll on October .
LL I was pretty sure you'd be a proper mask girl . I've forgotten in the past myself and it wasn't good . I still shudder at the memory of stripping large thick ceramic tiles off bathroom walls and a chip hitting me in the eye . The safety glasses were on the window ledge throughout .
I think those salt crystals were five or six pounds for a lovely big jar which lasted months . I reckon the jar was worth more even empty .
One of those moments that don't happen twice .
Hope tonight will be good sleep no 3
DD has been held together with either steroid injections or oral for the past year and will have another from our doctor next week . If it helps go from it .

Prinzess I spend my days trying to remember the day. I'm ok on bin day but every three weeks we have two bin days in one week and I lose track again .
If you take paper prescriptions in the date is on them so I often refer to that . The problem is there are a lot to do each month and I end up hot and losing the plot . Sometimes I sit in the waiting room and do them before we leave the drs all depends .
I understand about the other meds . Last Friday Dr was saying ok how are you for so and so which are the now and then meds . I'm begging not the Doublebase please not the doublebase .
I don't know if you've ever been prescribed the hospital size version in the dispenser . Once seen never forgotten , Her normal meds fill a big boots carrier and carrying the gel is like carrying a giant bag of potatoes .
Regarding baths it's at least 4 years since dd could get in stay in for more than five or so minutes and get out again . I've been the same the last couple of years . So now it's shower and shower stool .
We both used to use the Dr Organic organic body wash . Always picked up when on offer in the holland and barrett sales .
The rose otto and lavender ones smelt lovely . Dd went for a try of ones across the range . I suspect they've weakened the Lavender one not sure about the rose otto as mines still on the go .
They are really nice when not messed with . I use a big towelling mitt soaked under the shower with a small squirt of the gel and it really lathers up and is a dash of aromatherapy . They last for ages .
Last week I picked up two Dr Salts Dead Sea bath and shower gels in Boots . They had an offer and I used my points .
One is rose to relax the other eucalyptus for muscles so she'll be trying those .
I have a big , firm JL V shape pillow . Third I've owned in many years my dd found the current one on ebay new and unwrapped and in pristine condition .
DD prefers the softer version . So I'm thinking next replacements with be of the reading cushion variety . A cushion with arms ! I feel like Peter Kay saying garlic bread .
Hope you all have a restful night .
I think I should have chosen a less in your face avatar !
I love Rennie Mackintosh and versions of the Glasgow Rose but it's over the top here today .

What a fight I've had to get my last post to show . You would have heard my screams of anguish across the UK . Couldn't have done it again !
Another one here for Marigold stock powder I used to use Vecon paste but it went very salty . The reduced salt version is not near the original .

Oh boy, Doublebase....in the pinkish dispenser...yep, I get the vat-size one of those....and the same size of Dermol 500 (my usual soapless gunk)....I have a S-I-L with a car who will sometimes pick up my repeat prescriptions in the car...much easier than schlepping it on the bus!

The first time I was told that I needed to stop using ALL over the counter stuff and just use prescribed products, I was in hospital (severe generalised pustular psoriasis)...the consultant wrote a huge scrip for me and sent it down to the hospital pharmacy and a veritable sack full was delivered to the ward before I was discharged...including TWO each of the Doublebase and Dermol...I was SO grateful that I was taken home in an ambulance and one of the chaps carried my overnight bag and my prescription sack to the front door for me!

The last time Mum was kept in hospital, they discharged her with 3 weeks worth of those build-up milkshakes....she is in her 90s, and had been in for circulation/heart investigations and that box was bulky and heavy!.....again there were lovely helpful ambulance girls.

I enjoyed Bake Off last night...some bits have changed...the ads are annoying, but Tuesday night is now officially Bake Off night for the next month or two!

Raining this morning...and I woke early with a bad back....lumbago....so that means creme for the back, and ibuprofen if it gets really bad...and my warm wheat bag....roasting hot sun yesterday afternoon - and considering a wheat bag today!!!

Good morning Prinzess and ouch to the lumbago . You need an easy day with the wheat bag . I'm nodding at the heavy items that are prescribed . I'm convinced I have one arm much longer than the other!
Doublebase is very effective for Psoriasis , Excema , Dry skin etc all of which dd has . With the best will in the world you can't get through one of the mega sized ones in a month however hard you try . DDs is the one in the purple box . I've recommended it to others on OS in the small size from the chemists for dry itchy skin etc .
May be a day to crack on with your cross stitch and take it easy .
I've been thinking - always dangerous - I mentioned your soup recipes yesterday and maddie gave us a cheese cracker recipe . Would it be an idea for people to post quick and simple meals etc ?
Nothing complicated or expensive but everyday things when energy and inspiration have left the building .

    Good morning all
I bookmark a lot of recipes/food ideas from internet and also copy some into word documents, I have folders set up for "food" and "GF", but think it might be a good idea to put some of them into files called quick and easy (or even CBA:D)

I think I could live on soup, risotto, omelette and scrambled eggs quite happily, although risotto requires 20 mins of stirring, I find it gentle and relaxing and can sit on high stool and manage that. I container or stewed/microwaved fruit in the fridge is helpful too, nice with yogurt/cream/icecream or instant custard for my OH:D

Good vibes and gentle hugs for a pain free and mobile day to you all.
