Dragon age inquisition is a role play video game! Very interesting read on google but boy I don't think I could do that. One of my sons was obsessed with Estonia, do you girls know of that?

Apologies Katkin the Karcher reply was meant for you . That's coming straight from posting to Karcher on another thread !
The duvet trick is on the first page either post 4 or 5 - see I've forgotten already :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:I went and searched to atone for misnaming you .

World of Warcraft can also be played as a role playing game. The house troll mostly role plays whereas I play it the fighting monster way with my lovely friend who lives about 2 hours away in real life. We talk most evenings through "teamspeak" which is a paid for service (he pays for our guild to use it) but there is also discord which is a free service that enables groups of people to talk together.

The duvet technique is the sushi roll. There are videos available on youtube. One of my friends living in Japan told me about it when I was moaning on facebook about king sized duvet covers being the work of the devil (I am 5ft 1 with sore hands and a dodgy back). I sewed ties into my cover and onto my quilt and haven't looked back.

It's still raining here so I can't do the garden.....I have thornless blackberries and thornless raspberries waiting to go in so I need to do something about the area where they need to go (it's full of weeds with ivy from next door hanging over the fence. Home made raspberry jam is so much better than shop bought. We won't have any this year but I should be able to make some next year.

Today I'm taking a friend for her doctors appointment then I've been asked to call in at the community centre and give a hand with their craft classes. I'll take along my jelly baby that I'm knitting to show them. The afternoon is my own - I may go back to bed :rotfl: I'm lucky that between me and the house troll we can turn the memory foam toppers on both beds - a much better and easier alternative to turning the mattresses.

Love and light to you all

Sorry to butt in (is it but or butt, brainfog has struck), I just wanted to comment on the prepaid prescription thing. It beggars belief that they haven't sorted a better system for people who need constant medication. I'm one of the "lucky" ones in that I suffer from hypothyroidism which is one of the few conditions which qualifies for free prescriptions. For the last 30 years I haven't had to pay a penny for anything I have been prescribed and believe me I know how much it would have cost me.

As well as the thyroid I have other ongoing problems although haven't been able to get a diagnosis which means when I have days like the last couple when all I've been able to do is the zombie shuffle, interspersed with sleep I have nothing to blame. People think you're a fake when they ask what's wrong with you and all you have is a litany of symptoms without a name.

Sorry, rant over. I've been very much better since I was fortunate enough to be able to give up work, the ability to rest when I need to means I recover much more quickly than I used to. I found a symptom diary that I kept for the doctor several years ago and was encouraged at how much I'd improved. I'd forgotten some of the horrible nerve things that I used to get that thankfully have mostly gone away - does anyone else ever feel as if their spine is exposed to the air? That was one of the least lovely things I used to get.

Anyway, compared to what most of you go through I feel as if my problems are very minor so I probably won't contribute much but hopefully will be a cheering section for you brave people.

:D Mr LW has a degree in Mechanical Engineering - which is probably why he leaves the tougher assemblage tasks to me! :rotfl:

This Dragon Age thing interests me LW, what is it all about? :)
Sword'n'sorcery role-playing game on the pc (it's available for some consoles as well) - and to me, a wonderful way of escaping from my rubbish falling-apart body.

I'm not familiar with Estonia. :o
I'd struggle to do Dragon Age on my own, but Mr LW and I sit side by side at the pc; I do the bulk of the "action" and he keeps the potion buttons pressed as necessary to keep my character healed. Also, if it's a really tough-on-the-hands boss fight, he takes over and does it. :A Currently running a Human Mage - I don't usually play Human characters! :rotfl:

Snoozer -good to see you, pull up a chair and make yourself comfortable. I currently have nine - count 'em, nine prescription items, so I'm very glad of the ppc, or I'd have to choose which ones to do without.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

    Even everyone,
Physio today so I'm absolutely bushed - the woman I see is wonderful but oh my Meniere's doesn't half play up afterwards so it'll be a quiet couple days to get myself back on my feet before I start Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy on Monday:D I can't say I'm looking forward to that especially as the information for patients section advises "Patients should bring a change of clothing including underwear as treatment may induce vomiting and/or loss of bladder control" so defintely a "big pants" kind of day by the sounds of it

OMG carnoc I didn't realise you had that and that therapy sounds challenging to say the least! Go you, get the big pants on and strap yourself in for the ride. If it helps, it will be worth it X

Thanks ladies for the RPG info, I totally get how much fun it can be from my sons who are geeky young men and like that kind of thing. I've never been much good with computer or any other games actually. Think being an only child may have something to do with that.

I enjoy solitary pursuits and read a lot. Enjoy making "stuff" too, crafty things and little weird projects that have no relevance at all apart from they enchant and engage me.

We are lucky in Scotland to have free prescriptions. I can not imagine how difficult that must be to manage with a restricted budget.

Yep Meniere's the gift that keeps on giving in the most unexpected ways
Don't worry biggest ever "big girl" pants will be in place - I'll go through anything if it helps and I'm very, very lucky to be accepted by the specialist balance team at Royal Alexandra in Paisley as places are scarce and it is a very expensive programme (more so if you are coming from out of the area) so they have to be certain you're completely committed to it so thank goodness for my lovely consultant at Crosshouse who recommended me :D

Welcome Snoozer . It's certainly true there needs to be some better thinking on prescriptions . I am on a lowish income but can afford to pay for my daughters annual ppc and if I couldn't her pip is meant to cover the cost . In my case it means £8.66 a month set aside covers the annual cost of all the prescriptions for the year . The true cost of the drugs to the nhs is massive , partly due to the drug companies monopolies . For us around £2 a week is good value .
I do however see for the low paid , unemployed and those who have been sanctioned and have no income or have " fallen through the safety net " it can be an impossible situation .
Some benefits allow exemption for medication and dental care - the means tested ones - my daughters don't .
For any considering a PPC it can also be paid for monthly or quarterly by direct debit .
I do think the NHS need to challenge the drug companies as most things are inflated cost wise .
I do agree with the decision to stop paracetamol etc being prescribed . I can buy 32 paracetamol in Wilkinsons for 20p max.
This is just my opinion and everyone will have their own view on the subject . I'm just trying to support the health service we wouldn't want to lose .
We have had a number of posters on the thread with things that haven't been diagnosed and my advice is never give up . Mar who posts here has had to fight hard but she now has the treatment which will hopefully improve her life .
I'm afraid I have no knowledge of spinal conditions but maybe Cranky or someone else has some knowledge .
It is good to see that looking back you can now see some improvement in previous problems . I really support the daily diary method as it can chart ups and down and is very useful for hospitals and clinic visits and also benefit claims .
Finally as I seem to have written a small book !!! Please feel free to pop in as often as you like . There isn't any such thing as being too sick or not sick enough .
We chat about allsorts and everyone is welcome .
Kittie and Dear Monna who don't struggle much appear here from time to time .
To the rest of you I shall make a brew and be back shortly :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    Hiya all

With the folks on here with ongoing conditions I feel a bit of a silly sausage to post on here again but since I posted and told you all about my breaking my arm in December I thought I would post again now to say that i was discharged from Physio today - I have been a good girl and done all my exercises, and although not back to full mobility and strength - I am nearly there! I shall miss seeing the Physio - she was such a lovely person. And she did some manipulating of my arm which was very helpful.

Arthritis still goes on and plays up on wet days. Also having DS1 + GF + DG (still a baby) + their two adorable but large dogs to stay does impede my ability to take much needed afternoon sits and relaxes and often dozes. Am tending to go to bed about 9 so am not on here so much. However, reading your stories, I must count my blessings/

Wishing the best to all of you - not only in your health issues but also in your fights with bureaucracy - so wrong that ill folk should be treated thus!
