I liked Warlock too LW. I'm much the same as yourself - the sun came out so I took down all the blinds from the big front window and the french windows, washed them, cleaned the windows and put everything back. I then did a thorough furniture moving clean of the room. Sunday I could hardly move so I've been taking it easyish since. Yesterday I cleaned the cooker hood and scrubbed the patio outside the french windows which was looking a bit grotty so I've had a day off today.
The back and front gardens are both on the "to do" list. The front can be done in an afternoon, the back will take about 2 weeks. The forecast is rain though so I may be safe for now.0 -
We have had thick fog most of today....one of the joys of living on the coast is the seafog!
I had a busy Sunday...I cooked a 'special' dinner for Mum...and have had a couple of 'quiet' days to catch up...sitting indoors with my knitting and Kindle mostly!
I need to find a few minutes to sort of out repeat prescription in the next day or so, and get it phoned through to the chemist.0 -
Grey cold horrible day up here as well. I didnt really care as I'm knackered, taking time out. Forecast is rain tomorrow off & on until the weekend. Got my garden started so I'm happy, can just potter in it all summer now.

:hello: What ho, Cranky. How's the House Troll doing these days?
It's grey and miserable today, so I'm glad we went for a bit of a trundle out yesterday; though we stuck to the local Loughton Valley Park rather than further afield; also Mr LW decided we'd earned a swift half at the Ship Ashore afterwards.
Not idle today though; pizza base has been made, and I'll construct the pizza later, and the BM is on again for a wholemeal loaf with flax seeds in. We've also constructed a blackberry'n'apple crumble (blackberries off the local bushes last Autumn) to be cooked alongside the pizza. Mr LW peels, cores and cuts the apple, to save endangering my fingers. :A He will also grate the cheese for the pizza, as I loathe that task. :A
I've earmarked some money to pay for my prescription prepayment certificate too - that runs out at the end of April, so I'll need to apply for a new one soon. I'm always careful to earmark money for future expenses ahead of time.
Have a good day, everyone.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
The House Troll is a bit sore LW :-( We have a doctor's appointment on the 10th of April to discuss his joint pain. He says that he's had it so long it's just part of him but I feel that the whole thing needs looking at now rather than me spooning junior nurofen into him at regular intervals. He went out with friends for a couple of hours on Sunday then when he came home looked sadly at his legs and feet and said "walking is over rated, why can't I just float?"
I'm still suffering from Saturday's cleaning activity so it was a quiet day playing World of Warcraft hereWe have home made cake and bikkits left from Sunday (made before the "I am shattered" really kicked in). I do wish I could have more than one day doing as much as I did on Saturday instead of one day "doing" then a week just looking at the "to do" list.
It's raining here - I don't feel nearly as bad about sitting on my bum when it's hissing down outside :rotfl:0 -
LW I renewed dds annual ppc on the phone last Friday . I've been buying it for years . The amount of meds she's on would be beyond affordable otherwise . The new card arrived yesterday by post .
It was good to see the cost is frozen again at £104.00 as prescription charges increase again in April . I've meant to mention the ppc on this thread for those who might find it helpful so thanks for mentioning it .
I expect doggy countdown is underway again .
I've been doing the necessary but have had a couple of rubbish days .
Like others here I have had a lot of grey , damp and miserable days and a bitter wind howling .
We had a real sunny day on Monday so sat in the garden to make the most of it .
I've been looking at the budget as things became more full on over the past couple of years the eye has gone off the os ball often .
Every direct debit except the tv licence are increasing quite sharply in April so I am going to look at everything . Luckily I am not locked in to any deals not even energy anymore so hopefully can find better deals .
I need to stop the habit of cutting through M&S food hall on my way through town and filling a basket !!!
I hope all are well I'll read back later as I'm wondering how Caronc is going on with work etc .
Stay warm all

Evening everyone,
I'm having one of these weeks where apart from Monday's mattress turning etc. the "to do" list has been looked at more than tackled.
Finally got my PIP MR letter finished spurred on as much as anything by the fact my sister could post it for me today:o
My intention to apply for Ill Health Retirement has now been officially made and I have the forms so that'll be the next challenge though TU rep is coming out next week to give me hand. I still feel very down about it as I suppose that it's the hope of returning to work that was keeping me upbeat so my resilience has taken a bit of a dunt and unusually for me I've been a bit weepy. Still "I'll get over myself" - I've been through tough times before and got through so will this time as well........0 -

Sorry to hear this caronc. Was part time not on the table for discussion?0 -
Caronc I'm pleased the form is dealt with . I think re work it is really hard to come to terms with sometimes . To be honest I had to leave to start home educating my daughter in 2nd year senior school , my own health was beginning to cause me some struggles work wise but I would have probably managed a couple of years more . At first I missed my friends at work and the daily routine but looking back I was pushing myself back then and may have had to leave anyway .
When the gardener has your garden manageable you should be able to potter without the hard work and find ways to enjoy your new life .
If it fits the budget I would advise a non-turn mattress . I cringe when I read of people lifting and turning mattresses on their own .
I'm still catching up !!!
Is the mse clock still an hour behind ? I've been offline for the past few days and either no one is posting on mse or the clock is out .
