Polly the meds sound amazing!! I know sometimes tho things can have an amazing first effect then loose it after a while but fingers crossed as this is amazing progress!!

I think being able to sleep makes so much difference too so that will help!

The last few months you and everyone on this thread has kept me going - just by seeing how other people's lives are and how they manage helps me so much! It's amazing to have a place like this so thank you to everyone - you may never know the difference you make to other people's lives!

That's really helpful advice Tink for others as well as Wolfy .

Did the shopping get sorted today ? I was looking at Jack Monroes twitter feed a day or so ago and she was looking for free or cheap ideas to occupy small boy during the holidays . Lots of people replied with some really good things to do . She'll be filling a couple of jars with pieces of paper one colour for dry days and one for wet . The idea is to take one at a time out according to wet or dry .

I know the jar idea is common on the internet for many things but I thought of you when I read it .

How are things with everyone else ? I've had you in mind when lighting the candle AOT and hope things get sorted asap .

I missed your second post Tink . I like to think we all keep each other going . We can discuss things here rather than posting among other threads , Everyone understands things others don't in day to day life .
It's been good to meet others in the same boat and be able to speak of hopes , fears and the awful appts system too .

I was checking on the calendar and it has been 8 weeks that I have had this rash so I think it might be something worse than insect bites.

I was googling yesterday and I read about a condition called Pityriasis rosea that I think might be the thing I have.

I have my GP on Wednesday so I will ask him what he thinks. I might need steroid cream.

I'm getting my blood test tomorrow so hopefully I can get the results at my appointment too. They are sometimes very quick with the results, luckily.
I know you have been on a number of meds . Have you ever been prescribed Mirtazipine ? I have a feeling Wolfy had it at one point . DD has only just started her 2nd month on it so it's early days yet .
I know it has to have a fair trial before making a judgement on it's effect but it's been like a miracle . It's as though a switch has been flicked in her head . She is sleeping proper restorative sleep . I missed a phone call a couple of weeks ago on the landline . It was then sent to her phone which is the missed call back up . Without a word to me she rang them back . She never phones anyone but sorted out the change of appt by not texting but talking .
I was gob smacked to say the least ! She also took herself , the anxiety and agrophobia for a little walk aroung the block .

The only med I can ever remember making a difference was nearly 20 years ago when the gp gave her Efexor . That helped a lot for a few years then started working against her so we aren't thinking this could be the missing link yet .

I'm not sure, I was put on lots of different meds when I was going through the diagnosis. It sounds miraculous for your daughter if it works that well. Amazing!:T

Wednesday, yes Polly is correct, I did have a brief try of Mirtazipine, but it didn't suit me at all; and the GP quickly switched me back to Moclobemide. Anti-d's really are "horses for courses" - some people for instance do well on Amytriptilene (sp?) (or Amy-on-a-Trampoline as I've heard it called) but I am a danger to myself and others if I take it.
I hope the GP can sort out what your rash is and give you something to deal with it, it must be very dispiriting, let along the itchiness.
I pretty well knew Mr Wolf would not want groups or other forms of intervention .
I find it incredible the GP has such a long waiting time . It really beggers belief ! I know neither of you like phoning but generally GPs have a few appts in hand . We're lucky here if needed I can phone and the doctor will see dd that day . Don't think it's so common to see that now .

If that's the time scale once you have the letter it's delaying the med being started . One advantage could be it will give a bit of time to work out any little adaptations that can be done now . I would be tempted in this situation to make an appt now in advance for the GP as one would hope both parties will have received the med confirmation in the interval .

How is Mr W regarding balance and gait ? I know you get around mainly sticks or bum . I'm mindful space is at a premium in the bungalow ( thank the Gods you are single level ) Do you have a walker with or without seat ? One may help if he's unsteady I know Prinzess and her mum make good use of theirs .

I know you like us buy your own aids but would there be a benefit which Mr LW could claim to help with extra costs . I know he's now retired and it would depend on income and would also involve the dreaded claiming process so one to think about .

I remember you had work done on the back garden to make it more disability friendly . One of those raised stool things is handy for balancing while weeding . If planting is low level it could be worth moving some stuff to pots to make it more accessible .

Good thinking on the bread slicer , always thought they missed a trick not inventing a bread maker that could slice the loaf .

Ooh there's posh , you are now a two lap tray couple .

I'm waffling but one last thought . If Mr W is now unsteady on his feet the worry will be falls . You're probably already thinking this already regarding who can pick up who . I imagine you're googling away as I type .

Don't blame yourself for your illnesses . No one asks for poor health . There is actually an odd advantage to having the experience . Physically I can understand my dds difficulties much easier and we sort problems from pooled knowledge . You wont be pushing your husband to try harder or make more effort as you know only too well things don't work like that .

Mr LW has two GP appts booked already - one for a follow-up of them trying him on Montelukast for his two-years-old persistent cough, and another with a different GP in the practise for a "meds review" so we'll see how it pans out.

Currently he's walking ok, just tends to drag his left foot; he's still doing dog walks with me - if we only have one dog, he comes along just for the walk, and currently with the two Cavapoos, he's taking Buddy, the smaller (and calmer) of the two and I have Indi.
His worst symptom at this stage is the tremor in his left hand.
The foot-dragging is causing him a few problems with callousing under his foot, but he gets me to sort that for him (refuses to see a chiropodist).
If he does find himself needing a stick, there are a total of five already in the bungalow, two of which are height-adjustable, and he has seen my method of crawling to the nearest piece of furniture and "climbing" up it when I fall (sounds daft, but it works). If we get chance to visit a craft fair, I may find myself admiring another hazel stick. ;) Or two. ;);)

We do have one of those reversable kneeling pad/stool jobbies - I bought it a couple of years ago so that I could do a bit out there. We don't really grow much now, just a few herbs in patio pots, the rest is lawn; and I bought a small enough mower when our previous one died that I can manage it, albeit in small stages. He does still do the mowing usually, but anything other than that in the garden simply doesn't interest him.
We have a chap in to tidy the ancient hedge at the back every two years (neither of us could manage it, and it needs specialist equipment, as we're talking tree-height).

We may have to think about getting someone to do the front garden eventually (I get nervous being out there in case a neighbour stops to chat, as I can't do small-talk) - that's a small lawn with a border round it -, but Mr LW is against that at present - the back pretty much looks after itself as it's just grass and an overlarge rosemary bush. :D
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Wednesday if the rash is Pityriasis it's very common and should be eased by calamine cream or similar . As you're seeing your Dr it may help you confirm it while you're there . My middle dd had it in Junior school it spread through the area . Other 3 didn't get it and when our gp took a look during an already booked appt she said If I had a pound for everyone of those this week . Steroid cream should not be needed if that's what the rash is . Steroids are pretty amazing but should only be used with caution due to the fact there are negatives in using them often . Unavoidable in the correct circumstances .
Are you still having any counselling or are you managing to get out and about more with friends ? You do sound much happier and getting on with stuff .

It's really itchy! It's driving me up the wall and it's worse at night. I've been trying Sudocreme the past couple of days but I did buy calamine lotion as well so I might try that after my shower before I go out today.

I stopped having EMDR last year and I was waiting for NHS therapy. I haven't heard about that actually, it was supposed to be a 3-6 month wait!

I do feel better as I've been trying to take time to relax and not get as stressed about things. My mood feels better in the summer months anyway because of the daylight.

I can't remember if I said this on here but I had to sleep in a separate bedroom for about 8-9 months to try to improve my sleep because of the fibromyalgia but I moved back in with my husband in about May. I do feel much better.

I think my body was at breaking point last year and needed a long period of proper rest.

Wolfy Hopefully as MrLW has two appts booked it may coincide with the letter to start prescribing .
I noticed a few years ago the skin under my heels and the outer edge of my feet was beginning to thicken and become quite painful when walking . I got one of the micro pedi things in Boots on a half price offer and it's so quick and easy to use . I know a lot of people use a foot file but this is really quick and effective . I've only needed to change the batteries once since buying . They sell different heads for it including suitable for men . I think there have been other models since but it was a really helpful buy .
It's good he wants to keep doing the front garden as long as possible . We all know it's limitations that get us down . It wouldn't cost much when the time comes to have someone cutting the grass . Many retired people male and female do a bit of gardening .
At least there isn't a shortage of sticks in your home .
Hopefully the Dopamine will help control the tremor .

Wednesday it could be worth ringing to ask if there is any news on the therapy , remember the squeaky wheel gets the oil .
I'm glad the fibro seems better than it was and you're back from the spare room bed . There is a more positive tone in your posts .

Hope everyone's ok . Would be good to hear how you are AOT if you're up to posting .

it was dds 2 weekly appt with the gp . It was actually 3 weeks this time as he'd wisely gone on holiday for a week . We planned to do the appt and head to town as I needed to collect a parcel and do a little shopping . It wasn't bad weather wise here yesterday quite dull and not really humid .

Last night we both started to feel very hot and not very well . By this morning high temperatures , feeling sick and very dizzy .
Luckily clothes and stuff were laid out ready so we went to the appt discussed all that had happened over the last few weeks and he printed out all the meds for the next month .

We discovered we had picked up some sort of bug hopefully of the 48 hr variety . I know exactly how that happened as a man in a shop on friday literally coughed and sneezed in our faces . No handkerchief or apology . I have sent the bad karma his way .

We nipped into the little local shop for a few things and came home . Dozed , sweated and ached on top of the bed all afternoon and flippin' furious .

Depending how long it takes we plan to go to town either Thursday or Friday idiots permitting .

Sorry for the rant but some people need to be more mindful . We all saw plenty of the coughs and sneezes spread diseases ads over the years .

Make sure you all take care if the predicted heatwave comes your way . A lot of the warning seems to be focused along the east and south east areas . i don't think it will be so extreme here in the NW .

My rash is a bit better so I decided to cancel my GP appointment this morning.

I have another appointment booked for Monday morning so I can get my blood test results then.

I usually book my GP in advance and then cancel if I don't need it as it is hard to get an appointment where I live.

I really didn't feel like going out in the heat anyway as it is horrible outside.

I have a corn or a bunion on my little toe. It just appeared a couple of days ago! I've never had one before. I'm not sure if it is because I had to wear my winter boots outside the other day as I was wearing leggings and boots to cover the rash on my legs.

Gross! Poor you and DD. It always feels weird being ill when it's hot as you feel doubly hot with the weather on top of feeling feverish.
