How long after new iPhone announcements are old models reduced?

Hi,
I'm hoping to get an iPhone SE on a contract (not buying outright), and I've been waiting for the iPhone 7 announcement in the hope of a price drop.
I can't find any specific details of what price drops have already happened on the SE in the UK, or whether a further reduction is expected, so I wondered whether there is a typical time frame?
I currently have a sim only deal with three for £20pm. I can see I can get an SE with 30gb data (I use a lot of data!) for £35 per month, so compared to my current contract I'd pay £360 for the phone over 2 years. That doesn't sound too bad to me, but I don't want to go for it if the price is about to reduce further!
Cheers

How long is a piece of string?
I think price reductions on older models of phones due to new ones coming out isn't always a given. It's sometimes the same with completely different goods such as cars.
Apple haven't been making as many sales as they used to and so have less inclination to suddenly drop the price on an SE, they will want to see how many IPhone 7's they can shift first.
Couple that with a resurgent Android, especially Samsung and it's murky waters. The fact the LG v20 has just been revealed won't help either.
It's a waiting game afraid, I'm sure you'd be gutted if you pulled the trigger on buying one then the price dropped.0 -

Wait for the SE's to be traded in and then maybe there will be some good refurb prices from Apple or Argos. IMO refurbs (not from eBay) are as good as new.0

The SE only came out a few months ago, so isn't going to be sold off at a discount by Apple. Also it fills a gap in the market for a small screen phone. Apple had been moving to larger and larger phones, when the SE appeared they struggled to meet demand for a more pocket sized one.
Apple remove old models from sale, they don't drop prices.
Beware of refurbished iPhones from Argos, they lock to the network of the first SIM inserted. Those from Three and directly from Apple are SIM free and won't lock.
Also "refurbished" can mean anything... At best you will get new earphones and charger. It isn't likely to mean a new battery (cost around £60 fitted by Apple).0 -

Same with ones from the Carphone Warehouse. They will also lock to the first network detected.0 -
I can't see the SE dropping much to be honest.
It's already there bargin basement model, not been out that long? and they will charge as much as they can get.
Hopefully the 6S will drop though0 -
Does that apply to their new phones. Just bought a new i6s the other night advertised as sim free but would want to be sure of that before picking it up0

Apple do seem to offer a brain-dead version of the older phone when they release a newer model, typically by making an 8GB model (but 8GB isn't enough for a smart phone, really).0

Even less messing around with Apple themselves, if you can visit an Apple Store they will swap it there and then. You need to book an appointment though.
CPW and Argos iPhones network lock to the first SIM inserted.
From CPW:
"iPhone is unlocked when you buy it SIM free but Apple's software means it locks to the first network you use it with. To find out about a particular model or using your phone abroad, ask in store or give us a call on 0870 087 0870."
From an Argos Q&A reply 7 days ago:
" therefore can have a SIM of any network inserted. However, as this is an iPhone, once a SIM has been inserted, the unit will lock onto that network. Thanks for using Argos Q&A."
At the same price as Apple direct, it's a no brainer to me...0
