Child tax credit child over 16 delay?

A bit late to this discussion but I hope this information helps some people.
I have been in touch with HMRC as my CTC had stopped even though I informed them that my child was moving to sixth form college.
On 9 Sep they told me it was being processed and could take up to two weeks.
Still no money this week so I phoned today and was told by a manager at HMRC that there are computer problems and some claims for 16/17 year olds have not been processed. They are trying to resolve that computer issue but they can not give a timescale of when it will be resolved.
I was also told that they only realised there was a problem after people started phoning to say they hadn't received a new award. I was told that what usually happens is that the claims for 16/17 year olds are processed in batches from 01 Sep and are usually completed by about the 08 Sep and the award notices sent out.
She is passing my details to the computer department so that my claim is speeded up.
So my advise is if anyone still has problems to phone HMRC is case its not been renewed because of the computer problem.0
