    Since renewal was finalised yes.
But how much were you getting between the start of the tax year and when the renewal was finalised? When was the renewal finalised?

£194.10 then had a one off of £197.26 (assuming when the renewal was finalised) and then £194.74 which it has been since 3rd June.

It's probably just the number of payment dates, you'll need to look at the annual figures and see if they're correct. The total over the year should add up to the elements you're entitled to minus the income reduction. Post them here if you want and we'll check them.
  • My son was 16 this year, and still in college. Like everyone else, called in July when I got my award in to advise of this. Last week, reduced payment. Same again on week 2. Was told last week this would be resolved in time for my payment today. Nope! Called this morning and the woman said they are still recalculating and could be any day now, but there will be no lump sum, and she can't advise when the payment should go through. So we've all just to carry on struggling 😠 I personally will be writing to complain. Their advisors should not be telling people there will be no interruption in payments if this isn't the case. At least if we know to expect it, we can plan for it!

Their guidance specifically tells them to inform the claimant that there could be an interruption so if they told you the opposite then yes you should complain. It depends on exactly what was said however.

There isn't any break in your award, you stop being entitled on 31st Aug and start being entitled again on 1st Sept so no interruption however they cannot predict how long the change will take the system to process the change which is what causes the payment interruption. Sometimes it takes a day, sometimes weeks. There is no way of them knowing your payments until the system updates which is outwith their control.

  • A colleague is struggling as her 17 yo has now started college and she can't claim the travel and meal bursary until she has the award letter but no sign of it yet - is this part of the process or has her letter gone AWOL?

She'll need to call them and ask. We have no way of knowing for sure. It might have been sent and she hasn't received it or it might still be updating.

Finally got through on the phone this morning. Was told they had the info but it hadn't been processed as yet.

Lovely lady on the phone said let me see if I can do the review for you now, checked a few details and said eldest is back on, the system will work out the new payments and I should get a new award notice shortly.

Checked online and eldest now does appear on my account, so just waiting for the payment calculations/adjustment.

Looks like if you ring they will try to do it there and then if not you probably wait on the pile until they get around to it.
