Large cash withdrawl from Santander123

I was a bit unsure at one time about using the machines in Santander branches to deposit cash - not all may have one. But it works really well and if you know how much you have put into the machine (as obviously you should!) it tells you how much the machine thinks you have - and you can reject the transaction if there's a discrepancy. Any notes that are not kosher are ejected, so you can 'get rid of them' elsewhere.
Nationwide have the same type of machine in their branches. Tried to deposit £1000 in £20 notes into one in one go and it choked at the size of the wad.
Had to go to the counter to put it in my account in the end.The more I live, the more I learn.

How little I know.!!0 -
There is advice at the outset how many notes it will take (at Santander anyway).0

We have had to withdraw large amounts in the past and where told that we could withdraw up to £5000 cash per day but that they needed 24 hours notice. I would go into or phone your branch now. ( think it may also depend on the branch so call them /visit asap)Happiness, Health and Wealth in that order please!:A0

Just to update, I went in and it all went smoothly. I needed passport OR drivers license not both and took about 10 minutes (including some strange warnings on how if I gave the money to a conman the bank may not reimburse me - no schit Sherlock!)
Got the car -all seems fine so good purchase0 -

All good then. Blame the warnings in getting conned in society, no different to teh in screen warnings now that most banks supply when doing a bank transfer.
You should be at liberty to waste your money if you want, but banks consider it prudent to have records that they warned you if anything does go wrong.0
