double mattress advice

Hi
I am looking at buying a double bed for my 21 year old son who has just graduated from uni and returned home until he secures a job.
I have found a wooden bed frame with sprung slats that I like, but now the difficult part of the mattress.
All our other mattresses have been Kozee sleep and Restus purchased from the manufacturer in West yorkshire who are no more.
The bed will be regular used when son moves out, as we have a number of guests.
Any advice will be most appreciated.

There are already several 'mattress' threads on this forum, some of them pretty long and detailed! Perhaps have a look at those, which seem to cover most things?0

What's your price range?
If you want something very tailored to your son's needs what is his approximate weight? Does he sleep on his front/back/side? Does he have any preferences that you know of?
If you want a "one size fits all" type of mattress for multiple people sleeping on it I recommend a medium or medium/firm pocket sprung mattress with no memory foam (as it's so love hate, some guests might not like it). I'd always recommend that for a guest room.
Your price range will determine how many springs you're gonna get, the comfort layer and the fillings etc. Maybe even the guarantee length.Hi.
