A fairly serious and embarrassing cockup by Lloyds. I hope they will explain what went wrong. Seeing others' accounts has happened before on certain shopping sites (M&S last year) but I don't remember it happening with bank accounts. Bank and credit card statements can be very personal. Not good.

Yes, it's appalling, not just that it displayed other details but that the payment was set to someone else. Had it gone through I can imagine Lloyds saying "oh you must have put the wrong details in not our liability"

It's bad enough to just display someone else's details, which at the end of the day are not secret, they would be on Mr Rohits cheques for example,(not that that's an excuse to display them) but to change the receipient and amount is breathtakingly incompetent and moves this to a whole different level.

I would, write to them (as your mother) demanding explanation and what they will do to forestall this in future.

I referred to reports of some who were apparently able to see the statements like credit card transactions of others. That should certainly be a secret.
  • Blimey! My money was on a 'man-in-the-middle' attack as I read the thread but am 'reassured' that it was only a Lloyds foul up. I wonder if TSB and Halifax group were impacted as well ....
