Lloyds payment just tried getting me to pay to a bogus account?

My mother has online banking with Lloyds but because she's not so great with doing online banking herself she asked me to make a payment for her which i went to do just now.
The payment was to a recipient who is already in her payment menu.
So i entered in the amount & then hit next, expecting the usual screen.
What i saw on the next screen was strange. Instead of the normal layout, it was absolutely huge. It stretched the screen out a lot.
The payment "from" was not my mother but "Club Lloyds" and an unrecognisable sort code & account number.
The recipient was some "Rohit J Singh" whoever s/he is.
The bank name was Royal Bank of Scotland - which my mother has no ties to at all.
The amount was totally not what i had entered - it was over £500 instead of the £20 i had entered.
The telephone authentication also wasn't familiar either.
Anyone else here had this?

I would suggest you check for malaware and virus check the computer thoroughly.
I wonder if she clicked on any dodgy e-mails or received a call from 'Windows' who may have used something like teamviewer to gain control of her computer.
If possible use a different device to change her banking ID and password.0 -
This does not correspond to normal Lloyds online banking screens. For example, the name of the recipients bank is never shown only sort code and account number.
So what happened next?0 -

Tele authentication to an existing recipient doesn't sound right either.0 -
The thing is, this was done on my own PC. I regularly run SuperAntiSpyware although i'll now be running the other programs too. Nobody has access to this PC other than myself.
What would you advise here? Should i get in touch with Lloyds?
The thing is ... it's my PC, but my mother's account.
You may have to copy the image source & paste in a new browser to make it readable.0 -
If scans for malware/viruses finds nothing, I would contact Lloyds Bank about this."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

I closed the transfer down. I didn't want to click next, previous, back or anything like that so i just hit the red X in the top right.
I've just ran SuperAntiSpyware & Malwarebytes Anti Malware & the AM one found nothing. SAS found 600 entries but that's normal as it usually seems to find that many.0 -
I would speak to lloyds in the morning, you haven't lost any money which is good, maybe worth trying another computer see if it does the same, and I would suggest changing online baking details especially if the passwords are the same as things like emails where your mum may have clicked a phishing email, its a thought.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Banking & Borrowing, and Reduce Debt & Boost Income boards. This is definitely not the screen for paying an existing recipient. It looks like the screen for paying a new recipient which does require a telephone authorisation but it is not quite right. especially at the top of the screen (unless the differences are being caused by your browser).
Are the telephone numbers correct?0 -
Well spotted.
Advise Lloyds. Take advice.
Use a different machine and see what happens.0
