Oh dear Bobbadog, looks fabulous, but soooooooexpensive?

I am not doing too well. Think I may still be in with a chance of losing this week, but can;t really remember what day I "started".

Does any one have any experience of lighterlife?

Supposed to be a plan for people with 3 stone or more to lose, and our local rep says she lost 4 stone in 3 months. medically checked and all thatwith cognitive therapy sessions about eating habits in small groups, Suspect it will be expensive, but would it work? Short sharp shock sounds appealing.

  • Hi MissKJ, I have heard that they can be a little expensive to say the week, a friend at work was thinking about doing it and told me it is roughly 60 quid a week????? Plus I only think it would work if you were ok with eating (or drinking in their case) the same stuff week on week. They might be very good and ive heard that you can lose loads but it will probably all pile back on once you start eating "proper food" again!! Sorry to be a party pooper but I believe slow and steady wins the race when it comes to losing weight!!

Thanks Snaggles n Lucy, Lucy Im sure you lost loads on your first week, thats normally how it goes in the first week isnt it?

Hope everyone is doing ok on their party season challenge!!

  • WEll I am hoping to shift quite a few poundles this week. I am starting with an hours bike ride (30 mins to work and 30 mins back.) I am just hoping there isn't a head wind as the weather is looking quite poop around here. Still even if there is I must think of all the extra calories I am buring riding into the face of a force ten gale.

I have planned my days meals so I don't snack on junk food.
    Todays menu is -

B/fast - mashed bananas on toast sprinkled with cinnamon (yummy)
Lunch - home made tomato soup and home made bread role. Small handful of pinenuts and sunflower seeds.
Tea - tuna and salad pasta. Apple
Snacks - peach, apple, porridge made with half water and half milk for supper.

Fingers crossed the biccy tin at work doesn't call my name today.

Have a great weekend everybody and good luck with the challenge.

Boo-hoo, I only lost .5 of a kilo (just over a lb) :( I'm really disappointed because I haven't really cheated at all this week. Maybe I've been gradually getting a little more lax on exact measurements though, and I'm due me time of the month (*ahem*) so I'm sure water retention isn't helping.
This coming week I promise resolutely to stick to exactly the weights and measures my diet tells me to and I might even try to get some exercise in as well (oh but I hate exercise).
Lets hope that by next week I'll have lost the kilo I aim for a week and the other half I didn't lose this week to boot :D

  • Hi everyone

I haven't bottled out in case anyone was wondering, I haven't been able to get onto the Internet since forever ago cos of bloody stupid virgin media

Well done on the weight losses, everyone seems very determined and it's keeping me focussed (when I can get online)!!!
Anyhoo... I have lost 3lb which I am very pleased with :j and I've saved £10 by not buying lunch at work.

Have been to the gym 4 times this week and been pretty good with food. I'm quite lucky that I never want to snack during the evenings. Once I've had my dinner and maybe 1 or 2 biscuits with a cup of tea as 'dessert', my sweet craving is satisfied. It is only the first week though so I expect weightloss will slow down now.

I don't need to lose loads tbh, just over a stone would get me to my ideal weight but my body seems to sit comfortably at about 6lbs over that, so I may try and keep at somewhere in the middle.

Am going out shortly and will be drinking slowly throughout the afternoon and probably much quicker later on  but it'll be vodka, lime and soda so could be worse. Only had 1 slice of toast with peanut butter and 2 weetabix with semi skimmed milk so far. Will prob snack a bit later but will try not to have too much.

Good luck for next week everyone. I know I shouldn't be weighing every day but I can't help it. Maybe I should stick my scales in the car until next weekend?

Lucy, I'll PM you my starting weight x

Did your hubby force feed you snaggles?

Yes, he pinned me down and forced chips into my mouth! I was saying 'noooo....I want to eat salad.....' but he just wouldn't listen....:D

The night out was great, I ddn't drink THAT much but I felt really drunk because I'm a complete lightweight! The chicken kebab at the end of the night was probably a bad idea, but I think I danced enough to have earned it! :p

Before I started this diet lark I was a size 22 (huge I know), I had very little clothes that would fit me and those I did own looked horrendous.
So today whilst out shopping I wondered to myself how much losing 20lbs had reduced my dress size, so I wandered into a clothes shop to try on a few things.
Size 18 jeans!!! YAY! :j okay so they were a bit tight but I could get them on and do them up and bend over in them and breathe at the same time! This has seriously boosted my dieting moral. I haven't been able to get into a pair of size 18 trousers in about 8 years.
I'm still a size 20 on top but I always did have big boobs even when I was a teenager and don't they say the boobs are where fat goes from last? :rotfl:

Onwards and upwards, dress size 16 here I come! :D
