I wash towels and bedding at 60, I'm also usually able to dry outside, (I try to do washing on a fine day) and think that also helps with killing nasties.0

I wash everything at 30 on a 30 minute cycle. Have been doing for years, still alive, hardly ever ill....
Same here- with half the recommended washing liquid from Aldi -
Towels 2 adults, one bath towel each, 1 hand towel in bathroom & bath mat all in one load once a week. Only wash more often in autumn before I put the heating on (around November depending on the temperature) as they start to smell if they don't get dry between uses/showers. Always hung out on line to dry unless we get rain for days in which case they wait for a dry day. Don't use tumble dryer unless its an emergency !0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗

Like you, still not dead.
Yeap - same for us. Everything goes in on 30 degrees.
The thing I always wonder about when questions like this are asked is 'salad'.
I have heard people say that they would not eat off a plate that was not blasted clean in a dishwasher, or that towels are dirty if not washed at 10000 oC, but what do these people do with salad? It grows in mucky soil (and probably chemicals), but it just get rinsed in cold water before eating. Surely if the salad is normally safe when washed in cold water (I know people have died from food poisoning from salad items before, but thankfully this is quite rare) then my knickers must be OK when washed at 30? :cool:0 -
Dish towels 90 , hand and bath towels 60, everything else 300

Seriously, how many germs are there on towels when you are using them after you have just washed yourself ?
The advert for the automatic hand wash dispenser instead of the "germy" hand wash pump always made me laugh - surely it didn't matter if the pump was "germy" as you were about to wash your hands !0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗

I do everything on a 40° wash now, after I found if I use the 60° on my new machine the things smell a bit weird - sort of musty even if they are removed immediately once the cycle finishes. Not sure why, I didn't used to have that problem with my old machine!0

90 with soda crystals and white vinegar. May as well clean the machine at the same time....;)
Had problem with smelly towels a few years ago due to 30 degree washes but saved the towels by washing at high temperatures since thenNever, ever give up........0
